To me, this album feels like a portrayal of how apathy enables the suffering of humanity. It is the most pessimistic portrayal of the human experience I have ever heard. It sees suffering as a universal tragedy that humanity must always be subjected to. We suffer because of our unwillingness to change. I feel like it is very easy to believe that this album blames God for humanity's suffering. However, in my opinion, this album blames humanity. It acknowledges that ... read more
If someone asked me what music is, I'd send them this soundtrack. To me, music is compositions of sound capable of invoking emotions in the listener. I believe that music is instrumental in its purest form. I love this soundtrack because it is music to me; it's what I've always believed music to be. It paints pictures, invokes emotions, and reminds me of why music is such a great art form. It establishes a sense of nostalgia for me, yet I have no emotional connection to ... read more
Listening to Every Onision Album #4
Listened to this one with two friends. Just like every other Onision album, it is one of the worst I have heard in my life, but it's probably his best. His best song by a long shot, Black Ink, is the opener, and the closer is better than most of his other closers. I hated about 70% of my experience listening to this and the other 30% ranged from fine to somehow even enjoyable. Biggest Tub Spider Ever and Crazy Dream are the only funny songs Onision has ... read more
Don't listen to this fucking song. Leave a 0, and go on with your life. If you are desperate to know why this is so universally despised, look up "Jessi Slaughter cyberbullying case" on Wikipedia: reader discretion is advised.
My thoughts:
I genuinely believe this is one of the worst pieces of art ever made. The level of evil encapsulated in this song is hard to put into words. I've always been someone who believes in rehabilitative justice, someone who believes that the ... read more
This album feels very disconnected from the audience despite the universal themes it presents, and the production for most of the tracks is generic and uninteresting. Normally, I'd throw a 5/10 or 6/10 on an album like this one, but there's an element of a three-track run in the middle of it that has made the entire experience sour for me. That problem is what seems like either unintentional hypocrisy or easily misunderstood statements regarding emotional inconsistency.
It's ... read more
To me, human innocence is innate. We come out as people to be molded and changed by those who raise us, influence us, hate us, and love us. I think this album tries to present that idea; furthermore, it tries to present the corruption of the innate innocence and how said corruption is no better dealt with than any other negative element of our societies. From the outset, we are the girl with the basket of fruit, hurt and battered by the morbid caricature of reality. We meet those who say they ... read more
One of my most common frustrations with modern metal bands is that they often don't feel like bands. I feel like music listeners sensationalize lead singers to an absurd degree; thus, the people who often do the majority of the work go relatively unnoticed. If I had to pick something about Knocked Loose to appreciate, it would be the fact that they feel like an actual band. It's clear that everyone works in unison to make these tracks come together, and they leave no loose ends as a ... read more
The instrumentals on this record never blew me away. I believe this record's strength lies in the chemistry between the instrumentals and the vocals. Allie X has a fantastic voice that mingles well with these disco-esque instrumentals regardless of the vibe the track is meant to radiate. I find that the second half of this record is more enjoyable than the first; it feels more consistent overall, and I think the songwriting is better. My favorite track is easily Off With Her Tits; ... read more
Comedy is one of the many things humans use to engage themselves or others in desired emotions, whether those emotions be positive, neutral, or negative; thus, it is only natural that music, an art form often used to express emotions, would occasionally have its own comedic flare.
The 2010s and the rise of the internet brought about a wave of new artists who, for better or worse, had endless creative freedom. With this freedom came “artists” like Onision, Your Favorite Martian, ... read more
I went into this album with the expectation that it was going to be nowhere near as bad as everyone had claimed. I had heard a couple tracks from it and decided that it was probably just boring and hollow. However, this album is much worse than a mere snoozefest. This album represents the purest form of how issues arise from the sad and lonely "vibe" being embraced so heavily in the internet age. To boil down emotional issues such as depression, suicidal ideation, and loneliness into ... read more
I don't really know if this is better than Charli, but it is excellent. If I could use two adjectives in relation to this album, I would use sporadic and depressing. I find this album stands out to me because of its genuine vulnerability. A great deal of "main stream" pop feels lazy, invulnerable, and fake, which has always been an issue for me when it came to enjoying artists like AJR. I know it's absurd for me to even mention AJR in a Charli XCX review, but I want to have ... read more
I'll probably revisit this one next year to see if it grows on me. I really want to like it, but I just don't. I find the production on this project only somewhat interesting, the lyrics annoying, and Yeat's vocal performance insufferable. Nothing on the project really captivated me, and I was bored for the entire runtime. Some highlights helped me a bit though. Finally, I'll also mention that this is my first full Yeat album I've ever heard; I need to listen to his earlier projects to truly ... read more
I can't believe Ronnie was the best part of a song for once.

Listening to Every Onision Album #1
Listening to this garbage was the worst decision I have ever made. I wanted to celebrate 4/20 with my friend, but I didn't want to get high because of personal issues. My friend and I love to listen to bad music, and I saw this was the lowest-rated record on RYM. Perfect, I thought. What a great way to celebrate; just some bad music to listen to with my friend. I was not ready at all. One of the most insufferable 2 hour periods of my life just ended and I am ... read more
Crying to music is always such an emotionally overwhelming experience in the best way possible. Thanks to Kai for giving me that experience this year. I needed it. Rest in Peace <3
