Very bloated. There's an awful lot of great on here, but also a huge amount of wasted space
Had the potential to be a really great album but got lost switching abruptly between genres. It's less of a flowing fusion and more a jarring mess
Like a solid imitation of the other big bands of the era, but without the ability to write a single complete, fleshed out track
There's quality here, but it's not interesting or fresh enough to captivate
Really average affair from the greatest to ever do it
This is my third listen and the first time I haven't found this album absolutely grating to the ears. There's still something intrinsically unlistenable to some of the tracks on this album, but I'm starting to see that there's a lot of good in there as well.
second track is a bit repetitive, but still some reliably good afro-jazz
It's a fun experiment but it gets real tedious real fast
Some really cool ideas on here but definitely needs some more fine-tuning. Lots of promise though for sure
There were definitely some highlights in the tracklist, but the more I listened to it the more it started to sound like a poor imitation of something from a bygone era
It's really vapid, and a blatant attempt to capitalise on the success of Olivia Rodrigo's first two records, but it's honestly not the worst listen
There are a couple of high highs, but most of this is wank. Even the spoken word segments which I'm normally a sucker for are extremely weak
Unfortunately got a bit masturbatory towards the end, but starts off super strong
