Marginally weaker in the second half but still very solid throughout
Falls off a cliff starting with Now There is Nothing, with Let Me Be Him being the only highlight of the final few tracks. Everything that came before was near perfection
'Sinnerman', one of the greatest songs ever written, elevates this record from a very strong album to an all-time classic
some super smooth beats and decent delivery, despite a lack of content and some awkward bars
A couple tracks in the middle don't seem to fit with the sardonic charm and wit of the album as a whole, but it refinds it's feet again before the end.
Some really cool and innovative sounds here but when it's this bone-bare it's hard to fawn over it too much
Some weird songs in the mix but too many classics to deny the quality of this album
Starts super strong but completely loses it's tight atmospheric focus after the first two tracks. The title track was a major let down. Some highlights sprinkled through the latter half of the record managed to hold me attentive for the 2 hour runtime and saved the album from being a dull unmemorable waste of time
Has some really mature sounding tracks and signs of the great things to come, but also contains a few too many unforgivably heinous cuts
