It really conveys that very gay impulse of being a worshipped religious icon and the dirtiest slag ever at the same time.
This album is legendary. "Complicated Game" is such a wonderfully neurotic banger and one of the most poignant new wave tracks ever made.
Horns in dance-rock music are my guilty pleasure so I'm eating this shit up honestly.
A pristine-sounding record with lovely textures. I'm not well versed in folk and singer-songwriter music so I'm sure I didn't pick on all the subtleties of the guitar playing and songwriting in general, but the lyrics are really heartfelt and manage to convey the depth of Luke's affection.
I just realized how attached I got to this album during the past few months, even when I was not playing it a lot. Like its melodies would just emerge out of nowhere and I'd be like, "wow that's a good song, I miss it."

That being said, I got very hyped by the singles leading up to this record (especially early single "No Problems") and I'm happy to report that the band completely delivered on this record. It is a tight collection of cute, whimsical bangers, with a wistful edge for good measure.
