PinkPantheress - Fancy That
84

very good basement jaxx tribute act

Model/Actriz - Pirouette
77

It really conveys that very gay impulse of being a worshipped religious icon and the dirtiest slag ever at the same time.

XTC - Drums and Wires
87

This album is legendary. "Complicated Game" is such a wonderfully neurotic banger and one of the most poignant new wave tracks ever made.

Kilo Kish - digital emotional
90

IT IS VERY GOOD YIPEE

Charli xcx - True Romance
70

"so far away" is so good: what if charli did a chillwave revival next????

Skinner - New Wave Vaudeville
77

Horns in dance-rock music are my guilty pleasure so I'm eating this shit up honestly.

Luke De-Sciscio - Theo
78

A pristine-sounding record with lovely textures. I'm not well versed in folk and singer-songwriter music so I'm sure I didn't pick on all the subtleties of the guitar playing and songwriting in general, but the lyrics are really heartfelt and manage to convey the depth of Luke's affection.

Charli xcx - BRAT
86

I just realized how attached I got to this album during the past few months, even when I was not playing it a lot. Like its melodies would just emerge out of nowhere and I'd be like, "wow that's a good song, I miss it."

I am now part of the BRATosphere.

samlrc - A Lonely Sinner
83

holy shit I did not expect to like this record as much as I did, but it was so immersive and well crafted

Quadeca - SCRAPYARD
77

I can't say most songs made a strong impression on me but that last song was absolutely divine!!

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
75

A very solid effort that's a bit less striking in the second half.

underscores - Wallsocket
95

This is still my favorite album of the 2020s, it is THAT good. April, you are legendary.

The Hellp - LL
65

wtf, is this hyperpop Panic at the Disco!

Katerine - Zouzou
81

probablement le meilleur album de Katerine: la production est géniale, les rythmes sont groovy et les textes souvent poignants; bravo la fronche

SOPHIE - Nothing More to Say / Eeehhh
85

this song has been stuck on repeat in my head help me pls

Caroline Rose - Superstar
86

Caroline Rose's "Superstar" may sound at first like your average sugar-coated indie disco album, but scratch under the surface (or listen to the whole record) and you realize it's actually a darkly comic Promethean tale of tragic ambitions and dangerous obsessions. In a nutshell, protagonist tries to make it in the (film?) industry, only to be embroiled in louche relationships and abandon what used to matter to them in their former life.

While the first side of the record ... read more

Ginger Root - SHINBANGUMI
84

I had very little knowledge of Ginger Root's music, although my YouTube history indicates that I did listen to "Loretta" sometime in 2021. That being said, I got very hyped by the singles leading up to this record (especially early single "No Problems") and I'm happy to report that the band completely delivered on this record. It is a tight collection of cute, whimsical bangers, with a wistful edge for good measure.

"No Problems" remains an outstanding ... read more
