Earl Sweatshirt - solace
95

If ya soul intact, let me know

Vince Staples - Dark Times
95

One of the rawest, most profound and beautiful albums I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.

Quadeca - Vanisher, Horizon Scraper
100

On a haze
There's a life underneath.
Do you like what you see?

Daniel Caesar - NEVER ENOUGH
100

In preperation for the release of Daniel's upcoming album I decided to visit his most recent work, mostly driven by the absolutely magnificent cover art and I can confidently say that he has quickly became one of my favorite Neo-Soul artists currently on the scene. This album has many amazing instrumentals that are perfectly accompanied by Caesar's beautiful whimpery voice. I will return to this album many-a time throughout my life now. Thank you Mr. Caesar!

Love Spells - The Love I Showed You Was Yours To Keep
85

Incredibly beautiful, mellow and heartfelt songs, heartbreaking songwriting and an instrumental overlay that heavily reminds me of a more tame "I Want To Be There". That being said, can get extremely repetitive, nontheless it's a very good, short dose of beautiful love songs.
Best Track: Bones And All
Worst Track: Lovers Only

Death Grips - Bottomless Pit
100

As a person who for the longest time believed that "The Money Store" was the creative height for Death Grips, listening to this album was like opening my long asleep and tired eyes from years of slumber.
"Bottomless Pit" was released following the rumored break-up of the Sacramento band and is definetly a testament to the fact that the boys still got it and they can still deliver absolute monsters of a record.
Because that's what I would call this record - a monster. ... read more

Kevin Abstract - Blush
95

This album came into my life at a point where i needed it the most. It is absolutely gut wrenching and some of the lyrics are like knives into the fucking heart. Some of the features are a little unmemorable but other then that this album is near perfection. Album of the Year so far and I don't forsee that changing very soon. BLUSH.

JPEGMAFIA - Veteran
95

This album perfectly encapsulates what JPEGMAFIA's sound became over the years and till this day is to me the best representation of Abstract-Rap and the music of someone who's talent and knowledge of their craft knows no bounds. Absolute must listen.
Best Song: Rainbow Six/Thug Tears
Worst Song: I Cannot Fucking Wait Til Morrisay Dies

Nettspend - BAD ASS F*CKING KID
60

It's extremely hard to listen to this music and it takes a lot of time to get used to. Especially since all this guy does is basically just croon on a very solid beat. The instrumentals on this record carry so much but some bars Gunner throws here and there can stick with you for longer than the passing second. BUT, this whole aesthetic Nett has build for himself and everything surrounding his music is extremely interesting and I want to here more, just hope he actually improves on what ... read more

2hollis - star
90

The first album from 2hollis' discography that I actually decided to listen to in full and let me say - I was very positively surprised.
2's music gives off a vibe that I have been chasing for a long time in music ever since Drain Gangs music decided to drift off from their cloud rap roots to more experimental rage music, atleast on the Bladee front, and it's very apparent that theres a lot of care put into this project. The songwriting is very emotional which fits 2's whole ... read more

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
95

So I usually don't do these kind's of reviews because I mainly listen to rap, yet a certain person has convinced me to try listetning to Billies music, and well I cannot say I hate it, in fact I can safely say that I finally found a nurt in Pop music that I actually quite enjoy.
And in light of recent events (that being Billies quite sad lost of the grammy nomination for this album) I decided to finally give this album a review.
Well to start somewhere I believe that this project in ... read more

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU: DIRECTOR'S CUT
95

This is a very good expansion on what I believe is the best rap album of last year, and I really really appreciate the fact that the phrase DIRECTOR'S CUT is actually used in such a way where it sticks with it's definiton - whereas being just a fancy way of saying "Deluxe" or "Extended".
I love the fact that this isnt just a few songs plastered on the back but it's essentially giving the original tracklist of the album a completely new life with the new tracks ... read more

The Weeknd - Hurry Up Tomorrow
100

I think this is the perfect closer to such a monumental character in the music world.

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
90

Through the lens of the best year for Kendrick Lamar this album feels like a victory lap and I'm all here for it.
Kendrick has basically killed Drake on our eyes, made us accept that fact and at the end made his funeral a giant party with rented clowns and Pinatas full of candy. This album feels like the aftermath of that funeral, simply now its not all about Drake.
Kendrick has cemented as one of the most important figures of hip hop this year and is here to give the West Coast just a ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
75

As much as I would love to join the voice that this is the best album in Tylers discography (especially as a LONG-TIME Tyler fan) I just simply cannot do it for the life of me.
Yes I think that he HAS reached a new potential of musical quality, especially when it comes to his flows, bars and production... but some parts of this record just simply don't do it for me.
I do think that some of Tylers best songs EVER land on this record (Like Him, Hey Jane, Darling I etc.) but at the same time ... read more

Joey Bada$$ - 1999
95

For some unapparent reason I've never acc put up a review on this album which is bad, simply because this album deserves even more praise then the praise it already has.
I'm a huge fan of mixtapes, they just have that kind of lowkey vibe to them which makes them a way better listening experience overall and this project solidified that for me. It's just a NEAR perfect project filled to the brim with confident bars and AMAZING production (Waves might be one of my favorite beats of ... read more

blink-182 - NINE
10

So listen, I enjoy punk, but im more of a daft person. I hope one day I will find the kind of music that will satisfy me...

A$AP Rocky - AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP
100

one mediocre song doesnt undermine that this record is near perfection

schafter - audiotele
95

A nearly perfect album that only is faulted by a few weaker features. The instrumentals are silky, smooth and groovy which perfectly compliments schafters style of rap and lyrics. A great show of compostition and a testament to why schafter is the most important voice in polish cloud rap of today.
