Way too good, his laid back delivery works for him somehow plus good beats. One of my most fav album of 2021.
Man wasn't lying when he said, "Zay u smooth like an R&B song"
Saw the meme "melon's main issue with watch the throne". For me it was totally opposite for me, it was the first Jay Z record I heard and after hearing the song Otis i felt like "if anyone wants to flex, flex like this".
Damn, Jay z proved why he is the greatest rapper of all time. Now, for the review, I just wanna say :
Light jigga, dark jigga, faux jigga, real jigga
Rich jigga, poor jigga, house jigga, field jigga
Still jigga, still jigga
Light jigga, dark jigga, faux jigga, real jigga
Rich jigga, poor jigga, house jigga, field jigga
Still jigga, still jigga
Edit 1:
Okay, after listening it 3 times, i came to conclusion that it's randomness, it's weirdness is it's strong point yet it doesn't able to elevate from the mediocrity.
Also outro of first few songs legit sounds like MLG meme edits, first i thought it's literally a meme album why would anyone take it serious. But the duo has certainly amassed a cult following, an organic fanbase which longs for the weird sound only they're able to produce.
Second coming of Lauryn Hill or like British Lauryn hill. I know it's disrespectful comparing her work to a previous successful artist as it takes away her credibility. BUT WHY DO THESE INTERLUDES SOUNDS LIKE TWO BRITISH ROYALTY TALKIN TO EACH OTHER.
you know when it's art-rock in the tag, it's gonna be good.
Only artist like Eminem can manage to have opening track like Bad guy and still manage to let project go downhill.
Also how many Skylar grey features you gonna do?
This album is considered his best work yet. Idk why. I mean it got some of his best songs like Stan, The real slim shady and The way I am. But have you forgot it contains Ken kaniff skit and tracks like Remember Me. To be fair, songs like kill you and Kim have their fair share of problems as well, but it's horrorcore so we can give them a pass ig (?)
All things said, this album did not aged well, i listened to to it again and found it less enjoyable than I previous thought it was.
