you have formed girlhood into an album full of despair, need, jealousy, anger, and self change and you expect me not to love it? i’m a hardcore ride or die for this album, no notes.
criminally underrated under the appraise joes garage, sheik yerbouti, and apostrophe gets. you are what you is feels like a satirical masterpiece
IN OR OUT, UP OR DOWN, NEVER KNOW ITS AN ILLUSION !!!!
HERE I COME AGAIN NOW BABY, LIKE A DOG IN HEAATTT
this guys dumb as shit though. like honestly. complete wackjob when it comes to politics. i’m thinking of that one picture of the emoji twirling his finger around his head with his eyes crossed. Stranglehold fucks though, i should be driving a z/28 camaro to it. i feel ashamed even rating this higher than a 50 because of the way he is. but i’ll be damned if i don’t say the guitar on these songs are KILLER
i will never EVER get tired of three cheers. shaped me in my preteen years, and it continues to mold me still. and as i’ve grown out of my emo phases and into a matured goth lifestyle, i will always embrace gerard way in red eyeshadow by my side as i get older. hang ‘em high is such a niche experience i’ll never forget
incredibly nostalgic. incredibly depressing. i think of my dad when i listen to this. 11/10 do not drive or drink listening to this
not my favorite Hole album, but Courtney Love do i have some damn words for you!!! this album i physically cannot sit through in one sitting without honestly getting a little emotional. but i feel that maybe it’s best that way. this is messy, this is angry, this is raw and laid out for everyone to see. i absolutely love how nasty and almost offensive this album sounds. i hate to be that person, but this is genuine female rage. this is what Courtney Love is perfect at, showing real ... read more
power, strength, and kingdom is what Impera exudes in its aura and sound. this is what Prequelle forewarned. it’s almost jarring to hear Opus Eponymous compared to Impera, a whiplash from doom metal to glam metal. songs of worship that have turned into praises and what sounds like hymns of triumph from a long war, stories of hardship and overcoming the worst. if you want to feel good? listen to Impera. visions of riches and glory, visions of an empire that feels like it will last a ... read more
the medieval tones with Prequelle will forever stick with me. the first song i had ever heard of this album was Faith, and it is on almost every playlist i create. Prequelle is somewhat angry, full of what feels like redemption and vengeance, and it’s evil is hidden behind songs of emotion and memory, like with Dance Macabre and Life Eternal. every track feels like a subtle foreboding warning of something big happening ahead, something unmistakeable. while being less like songs of worship ... read more
from the rest of my rankings of Ghosts discography, there’s no doubt i love this album like i love the rest. there is no subtlety in Opus Eponymous, there’s no beating around the bush for what this albums portraying and telling. this is a world of evil, danger, and menace all hidden within songs of worship. everything from the disturbing and almost grotesque lyrics, to the vocals that both mix a menacing tone with an almost angelic one, to that sexy bass and those damn drums, all of ... read more
my close second favorite album from Ghost, Meliora. this album FUCKS. this album is so goddamn sexy it makes me wanna sob. when i heard Absolution for the first time i genuinely thought i was ascending, rather descending, because good god- i thought a higher power got their claws on me. while Terzo isn’t my favorite Papa in the Ghost lore, i can fully accept and love him just for this album and this track list. banger, banger, banger. the only skip is Cirice, not because it’s a bad ... read more
my personal favorite of Ghost’s discography, Infestissumam. this album is so spookily groovy, and i miss this sound from Ghost, rather than the Def Leppard/glam metal sound with Impera. i do agree with some when saying this album does sound somewhat the same altogether, but i can’t help but love it despite that flaw. Infestissumam is a niche experience at first listen to an unsuspecting listener, and it remains the same no matter how many times you play it again. disgustingly ... read more
my childhood was spent in a 2003 honda accord listening to my dads mixtapes, mainly consisting of all the ‘dad rock’ artists and groups you can think of. RHCP was one of the main artists, and Californication will forever be a nostalgic staple in my personal world of music. 6 year old me reveled in the world and feeling described in the self titled track, and an 18 year old me pines for the nostalgia of that far-away feeling. Scar Tissue and Otherside will always be familiar tracks ... read more
a friend casually requested for me to listen to ‘basketball shoes’ one summer night this year, and i was completely unaware the absolute heartbreak that would ensue upon listening. in a listening party of 4 in a playstation group chat, my entire world collapsed and i cried emotions i didn’t know that was held within me. i feel like this masterpiece of an album has absolutely scarred me emotionally and i cannot bring myself to listen to it. 10/10. no notes.
