after listening to the ascension ep years ago, sarah kinsley is an artist i’ve kept my eye on. she’s one of the most interesting indie voices recently and this ep only proves that further. no matter how small she currently is or how large she could grow to be, lonely touch will remain a career highlight for her (alongside lovegod).

as always, billie’s vocals are great and haunting but this is definitely an improvement over her previous two records. usually i’d get quite tired of hearing the same artist-producer pairing, but eilish and finneas obviously work very well together and their creativity grows together. an overall gorgeous record that feels more fully-realized than anything they’ve made before.
favorite tracks: chihiro, wildflower, blue
ah, a surprise double album. this time with aaron dessner at the forefront (and thank god for that). these tracks certainly highlight just how much jack antonoff is holding her back. while these tracks don’t entirely save the album overall, they’re a vast improvement over the standard tracks. better production and better lyricism. if swift must choose someone to heavily collaborate with, dessner should be that person over antonoff.
