OH this is a never ending PARTY through and through, i am so here for that
Just wow... This album is aboslutely birlliant. Track after track Jill proves that she's still got it. This album is rooted in black music and you can hear the soulfulness of the project. I don't think there's a single skip on this and I believe everyone should give this a listen. I saw someone say say it feels like "a modern Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" and I can't beg to differ. Jill is not only bringing back the craved for soulful sound (which brought me back to ... read more
this is such a joint... this record will probably stay in my rotation for the rest of the year. it's just pure mellow vibes
honestly pretty solid for a first released project. it was a chill listen, with 'Game For Two' being the standout for me, although overall it felt a bit bland
nonetheless, i see huge potential in her and i'll gladly follow her journey
been obsessed lately with harmonicas on modern songs (blood orange, eiko ishibashi) and wow this is exactly what i was looking for. not only it scratches my brain in that case, but the chords and overall vibes feel extremely melancholic and relaxing. glad this album came my way.
i have no idea how she does it but she does. every single song or project sasha puts out stays in my rotation. she is such a breath of fresh air on the r&b scene and i beg you stop sleeping on her.
lexa is the freaking goat!! been waiting for this one to drop and it did not disappoint, she is the one to watch
it has been a while since i heard an album this unique. i'm hearing a lot of 70s/80s synthpop influence, yet it's still extremely fresh, which is why i'm so excited about this album and Nourished By Time overall. my first and definitely not the last experience with Brown's art.
truth be told, i will never get over this soundtrack. Ishibashi has the ear of a genius because she's got be one of a few that can create a piece that touches me this deep. nostalgia, peace and music for my anxiety. always hits the spot.
Absolutely magical. Kelela transforms into another dimension. I felt like I was there, with everyone in the audience.
this album is so heartfelt and heartwarming. loyle's voice is so warm and the production scratches my brain just right. honestly an album i would put on a rainy day to feel hopeful and chill
favorites: feel at home, in my mind, time to go, hopefully, about time
Some pretty great production and lovely vocals from Selena, however I miss a power she used to emphasize in her sound. Her vocals just seem quite timid, simultaneously making them forgettable. And that's the way I felt about the entire record. Cute and pleasant to listen in the background but just didn't stand out to me, except a few tracks.
Favorites: Ojos Tristes, Sunset Blvd, Bluest Flame
Quite hard to rate every single song fairly so I've decided to give this album a rating for its entirety.
Truly a soul-calming experience. Dreamy soundscapes combined with Ichiko's lulling vocals is a match made in heaven. This album could easily put me to sleep, but I will most likely come back to it when in search of peace.
