Destroy Lonely - </3³

This album blew my expectations out of the water. Following the devastating LOVE LASTS FOREVER, Lone returns to true form with a high quality, cloud rap project. This is the Lone I miss, even the transitions are a perfect add on to elevate the quality of this project. Some of these instrumentals I have never heard him on either, & they 100% work. Good job Lone!

Key Glock - Glockaveli: All Eyez On Key

I swear Key Glocks Favorite line is “Pink & yellow diamonds like now & laters”, bro said that on Offset’s recent project as well. Anyways, it’s a cool deluxe album thing, I don’t know what to call this since there was already a Glockaveli deluxe. It’s not as good as the original but it’s good, Key Glock is just so damn consistent I don’t have very much negative thoughts to share. Good Job Mr. Glock!

Offset - KIARI

I wasn’t very impressed with Set It Off, so going into this project I didn’t have the best expectations but this is undeniably better than that album. From the lyrics, to the instrumentals, to the features, & there are a lot of deep, emotional cuts in here as well which really elevates Offset’s storytelling. I enjoy the combination of hard hitting bangers with some more melancholy tracks, I’ll be looking forward to what Offset can cook up in the future that’s ... read more

Young Nudy - Faded In The Booth

I’ll be honest, I didn’t know this project existed. It should’ve stayed that way, because this project does nothing to me.

Young Nudy - Gumbo

Young Nudy is often known for naming his songs after food items & usually those ones are hard. This is a full album of him doing that, yet I didn’t come out of the project all that surprised. It’s a cool release, some Pierre Bourne production sprinkled in there with features from Key Glock & 21 Savage which are pretty good. It had everything a typical Young Nudy album has, it just didn’t click for me.

Young Nudy - SlimeBall 3

Unironically Nudy’s best project, regardless of the lack of iconic Pierre Bourne production Young Nudy is able to gather producers which suit his style perfectly. The intro “One Dolla” is an ideal representation of what you expect going into this album, simply just a fun, upbeat, & vibey listen all around. Also, Zone 6 remix is one of my favorite Nudy tracks of all time.

Young Nudy - Nudy Land

A solid batch of tracks with ethereal Pierre Bourne production & solid features. Good job Mr. Nudy!

JID - God Does Like Ugly

I slight step back from “The Forever Story” but that’s to be somewhat expected, this is basically a compilation of bangers. This project is more into the lane of the DiCaprio series, & yet it still hits. Still with the same level of spiritual, miracle, lyrical music along with some hard hitting trap beats. This is an incredibly solid listen & every guest does exactly what they need to do & more, can’t wait to see what JID has in store for us in the future.

Young Nudy - PARADISE
60

A slightly passable collection of trap songs with some overly questionable lyrics but it is a Young Nudy project so I expected generally the same sound he always does. I don’t have very much to nitpick about this mixtape, features are neat, instrumentals are sometimes a little different than the usual with COUPE on production but yeah, it’s a Young Nudy album.

HXG - Homixide Lifestyle 2

This project genuinely surprised me, it is up to par if not better than Homixide Lifestyle 1 which I highly doubted the duo would top but they proved me wrong. The only concern I have about this project is that it is way too bloated, if 5-8 tracks were removed this would be a considerably better record. As for the actual music, you have no idea what to expect going from track to track & the banger to sleeper ratio is pretty high. I like the fact that Meechie & Beno are experimenting ... read more

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Bandana

Yeat - DANGEROUS SUMMER

Peak. I am thoroughly impressed with Yeats constant approval & for some reason this was the one. This felt like a true, concise project with no straggler tracks that could’ve been left out; just straight to business. The interesting features that come with also surprisingly compliment their respective songs. I hope ADL is up to par or even better than this.

Ski Mask the Slump God - You Will Regret (Reloaded)
65

Realized I have not reviewed a lot of projects I’ve already listened to & this is one of them, it’s cool I guess, early Ski Mask; you never know what to expect.

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2

There’s so much good music coming out this year, & now we have the sequel to the well renowned Alfredo & it did not disappoint. Alchemist + Freddie = πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ This is some HEAT, everything about this project was perfect, perfect, down to the last minute detail.

Benny the Butcher - Summertime Butch 2
65

It’s nothing crazy, kind of a typical Benny project & I don’t like saying that.

Maxo Kream - Personification
80

One of the albums I’ve been meaning to check out is this & I have to say I’m shocked. I really enjoyed this project, the unpredictable trap beats & Maxo’s delivery mesh so well together. I loved this listen, & will be looking forward to Maxo Kream’s next project.

HXG - 5G

HOMIXIDE GOING INSANE

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out

Yeah, they’re back. What a crazy trio. Pusha T, Malice, & Pharrell mesh together & bring a phenomenal return album for Clipse undoubtedly. This project is a must listen experience, no other words.

JACKBOYS - JACKBOYS 2

Travis, you can do better than this.
