The Strokes - Falling out of Love

thought the last single they dropped was their worst song (out of what i've heard from them), yet they managed to do even worse.

my disappointment is immeasurable

ZEP - NO ENEMIES

some amazing production with consistently underwhelming (and occasionally grating) perfomances, song structure, and writing. despite the beats being very interesting, i found a lot of these tracks generic and tiresome. i do wish ZEP the best of luck tho, lot of potential here.

Maruja - Pain to Power

HANDILY the most triumphant, grandiose, and empowering rock record i've heard all decade. i'm blown away by this LP. it surpassed every expectation i had of it, and my expectations were VERY high considering the quality of the singles leading up to the release. i thought Geordie Greep's "The New Sound" set a new standard for debut albums, but i genuinely think this album has raised the bar even higher. from the political commentary to the gorgeous instrumentation to ... read more

I've relistened to this a few times at this point, and my opinion of it doesn't seem to be getting any better, sadly. Still looking forward to her next release, just didn't like ... read more

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out

Pharrell's hook on all things considered is the only part of this project I'd consider "weak." Flawless production, incredible guest verses from everyone, disgusting flows and delivery from the duo (as to be expected), and some of the best verses that Pusha T and Malice have EVER put out (push's verse on MTBTTF and malice's on So Be It are insane).

In my eyes, for something to qualify as a 10/10, it has to have no skips, at least a couple perfect songs, and ... read more
