it's a wholehearted attempt for jojo to rebrand herself to a queer pop icon, and while it could be iconic as she wants it to be, subpar vocals and uninspired dance beats aren't cutting it

"it feels as though "radio slop" in this case means clean vocals and pop choruses, as the only three songs you've singled out from the album are also the only three songs with no clean vocals. i can agree with the point that volumes hasn't come close to achieving the sound they established on "via" though, but i don't think they're necessarily trying to.
