Theres lots of holes but your lying to yourself if you dont see the potential
This sounds like the most confused artist I have ever heard. Is he trying to be xxxtentacion? Young thug? Lil wayne? Juice Wrld? Guapdad 4000? Tory Lanez? He is basically Post Malone. Coincidentally they mostly all show up on here.
On a side note, bros flow on the first track from 1:30 onwards is surprisingly nice
Its so hard to pick a favourite from Gibbs discography so far. Some days its this, some days its SOD, some days it's Bandana, Alfredo, Pinata, BFK .. What was I saying again?
For me, this is one of the only Griselda albums that didnt just come and go.
Not a knock on Griselda, personally I find them unbelievably consistent. But that means us as fans dont need to revisit older albums because there is always a quality new one coming. This, however, I always revisit in its entirety.
Yacht Rock 2's little brother & there is nothing wrong with that at all
Meyhem is a favourite and these are collectively my favourite Muggs beats
Get rid of Hologram and id rate this even higher. Always returning to this
Love his sticky delivery and paired with some of the hardest grime beats I have heard all year is a winning combination.
Cool to see a Cas feature and JME feature too.
My only issue is that although Footsie has this great eclectic delivery and is speaking a lot , sometimes he isnt saying too much
SL is quite interesting to me with his slower uninterested delivery over these kind of Kenny Beats. Reminds me a bit of an early 21 Savage delivery and in some cases a more versatile Aitch.
There is also some decent bars on this short project.
I know Kenny is a great producer and works closely with the Artist around what they want to spit over , but to me these kind of beats are just super played out now at this point which brings my rating down quite a bit
On first listen, I think I prefer Lucky 13. Flees tough lyricism is still up to par but I think the production is lacking a tad here. Features were nice including Jay Worthy, Elcamino + more, but overall the project lacked a bit of life I think
This mans Beat selection is insane. Some tracks were added to the playlist after only like 30 seconds due to the beat alone - and then you realise a killer feature comes in like Stove God or Boldy and makes it even better.
Really enjoyed this one. Personally not as much as Pray for Paris but it is close. I think the anticipation around Pray for Paris made it just that little bit more enjoyable for me.
I mentioned the features and beat selection when talking about the highlights of this ... read more
"I drink the bourbon with my teeth"
As a big Whisk(e)y drinker myself, this imagery is insane and I think can sum up this project pretty well.
Now look - Im the first to admit im not fully in the "SLumS" culture. The intentional poor mixing, lifeless beats with monotone delivery is just not my musical cup of tea (or coffee).
However, I am proud to say that this album sat quite well with me even after multiple listens.
The beats are still quite Lo-fi (Lo-NY i think ... read more
Just a fun little project which doesn't take itself too seriously.
I particularly like the production on Square Up (Juicy J produced I think)
Even with the big name features, dont expect too much out of this and its an easy and enjoyable listen
P.S that Ronny J track is literally 24 part 2
I know 6lack is a vocals first kind of guy, but some of these beats are just far too stripped back to make this as enjoyable as it should be. Only exception here is Elephant in the Room
Its perfectly inoffensive, but at this point of my life that just means boring
What a cracking hook on 'No Witness'. Maybe my favourite hook of the year.
But yeah. the rest is just mid stuff. Everyone has said it - just way too long.
In saying that, I will definitely be bumping 'No Witness' for a while.
Damn, i'm going to bring the user rating down on this one a bit.
I think it's a unique concept, the production is different and clean (is that a tupac who do you believe in baseline sample on the last track? Nice) and overall, objectively speaking this is really pretty good as a project.
Unfortunately I just really dislike sexual lyrics, so when this is focused predominately around porn and sex I aint really gunna fuck with it on a personal level.
So in saying that, I am making this ... read more
Impressed with this.
Maybe more so by the great production by Harry Fraud. Definitely some unique sampling paired with some real street rap - I'm feeling it.
