Owl City - Fireflies
70

A good Owl City song?

Weezer - Make Believe
30

2 amazing songs and the rest suck.

Central Cee - Doja
65

It's really not that bad. The lyrics are so bad but I enjoy how laughably bad some of this is.

The Voidz - Tyranny

Human Sadness is one of the best songs ever made, and I'm glad to see that this is becoming less and less of a hot take as time passes. It's deservingly the #1 single of 2014 on both AOTY and RYM, but the other songs on this album are no joke. Human Sadness through Father Electricity is a crazy run of tracks, and Dare I Care and Nintendo Blood are 2 of my favorite Julian Casablancas songs too. The first 8 songs of this album are perfection, but Xerox and Off to War (good closer but on its ... read more

Chat Pile - God’s Country

Noisy sludge metal with industrial influence. In other words, THIS SHIT FUCKING SLAPS.

I love an album that you can listen to at literally any moment, and this album is a perfect example of that. Someday is a perfect representation of why I love this album. It's not my favorite, as I do slightly prefer The Modern Age, but it has such a positive and fun sound to it that borders on bittersweet. That bittersweet feel is perfectly matched with heavily nostalgic lyrics that lead to this song working perfectly as a fun song and an introspective song. This entire album can either be ... read more

R. Kelly - Trapped in the Closet (Chapters 1-12)
NR

This is easily the best thing to come out of R. Kelly's career. Fuck R. Kelly though.

Viagra Boys - Cave World
85

Funny dance-punk with some minor inconsistency but some very good moments to make up for that. Return to Monke is peak music.
Edit (75-85): This album is a hell of a grower. I like the songs I didn't like a bit more, but the good songs on here really hit, and this album is so 2022 that I can't help but love it.

Westside Gunn - Peace "Fly" God
75

I like the rawer feel this album has compared to Westside Gunn's other stuff. Really good for a mixtape made to generate hype for an upcoming album.

Brent Faiyaz - WASTELAND
80

Brent's best work yet with plenty of great songs and potentially the best interlude I've ever heard. WAKE UP CALL is a masterpiece, and honestly up to par with the best songs on this album, my personal favorite being the follow up track to WAKE UP CALL, ANGEL.

Flyysoulja - 17

This is so fucking funny

Paris Texas - cyanide
100

Yet another absolute banger from Paris Texas.

Sleater-Kinney - The Woods

This is noise rock perfection. There's so much energy here thanks to the fact that all 3 members are some of the best at what they do. Corin Tucker has a very strong and raw voice that I absolutely love, Carrie Brownstein has some absolutely incredible riffs on this album, and Janet Weiss' drumming brings the perfect raw energy needed to make everything work. Jumpers is the best song here in my opinion, as it mixes the incredible riffs on this album with some really chilling lyrics.

Kate Bush - Hounds of Love
100

The perfect display of why Kate Bush may very well be the best artist in music history. The first 5 songs here are probably the best run in pop history, while the final 7 songs take this album in a darker conceptual direction that shows the peak of Kate's artistic side.

Nirvana - In Utero
100

This might be the most beautifully dark album in mainstream rock history. Steve Albini brings an extra bit of noise into Nirvana's sound that perfect matches Kurt's lyrics here, which seem like an obvious cry for help. The context of Kurt's suicide really makes these lyrics standout as a look into his mind, and also makes this album a really tough listen when heavily paying attention to the lyrics.

Frank Ocean - Blonde
100

I don't think I've ever seen an album have such a strong emotional connection to so many people, myself included.

BROCKHAMPTON - iridescence
90

I would go in depth about this album, but my thoughts on this would just sound like the top comments under a Frank Ocean song on YouTube rather than me actually talking about the music. I'm biased as shit, as this record helped me through some tough times, but also some of these songs are just unbelievably amazing to the point that I feel like I'd still rate this very highly without my biases.
Edit: This is definitely not a 10/10, but I still absolutely love this album to death. I just don't ... read more

SPELLLING - The Turning Wheel

I don't have much to say about this album other than it being one of the most gorgeous records ever created.
