listening to this in 2025 felt like quite the retrospective, I don't think I have given this a full listen through since like 2020.
yeah the album is really funny and weird but I also think we don't give this album enough credit for what it did to hyperpop and really electronic music as a whole. I wholeheartedly believe there are so many albums that would not exist had this not happened. I appreciate its boundless nature here and willingness to play around.

ok my tears still haven't dried but goddamn. what a touching album. one of the most touching albums I have laid ears on. only complaint is that "fuck me eyes" sticks out really bad compared to the rest of the album but I like the song a lot so how much can I really complain. beautiful vocals. devastatingly touching lyrics. gorgeous instrumentals. amazing production. idk, I really didn't think this was bad at all, especially for a debut album. many of the tracks on this have stayed in my rotation, I especially like "high fashion". it's mostly silly and unserious girlpop and there is nothing wrong with that. it sounds nice. there are even some artpop elements sprinkled around. the only song I found painfully derivative (albitet still very catchy and on repeat) was "diet pepsi".all I could hear was Lana Del Rey seriously. I honestly think this album is on par with "Loveless", especially with the texture and quality. extremely beautiful, not sure why this band seems to be so obscure. will remain in my rotaion.
