late review but WE GOT THE ALBUM SURPRISE DROP FROM KENDRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCKKKKKKK!!!!!!! probably the most fun kendrick album. with more listens, it gets immensely better. full of west coast bangers with some r&b cuts here and there. so many great songs, with ‘reincarnated’ being probably one of the kendrick’s best songs to date. not to say there aren’t any weird songs that didn’t click initially like ‘gnx’ (growing on me tho). standout tracks to ... read more
Brat and it’s completely different but it’s worse. prior to listening, i didn’t think this would be as good as brat but i didn’t think it would be worse either. i am not one of the people who’ll say brat is AOTY but i admittedly still like it. this was a bit disappointing. ‘I might say something stupid featuring the 1975 & jon hopkins’ took away the charm of a song i didn’t even really like on the original record and somehow made it worse. ... read more
although released in 1975, troupeau bleu is like a breath of fresh air. it’s a funky and refreshing jazz record that often is under the radar. like many others, i admittedly only know this through MF DOOM sampling Huit octobre 1971. glad i found it!!!
