Cameron Winter - Heavy Metal
97

A perfect listening experience through and through. I have had many a weepy drives but also some of the most beautiful experiences to this album in this past year.

Jane Remover - jane_remover_essentials.zip
87

Gotta be one of her best most tight packed transmissions yet. She is so fucking talented

Quadeca - Vanisher, Horizon Scraper
100

This has touched me more than any of quadinkys past works. There is an unmatched general feel about the soundscape of this album that feels so much more consistent and well thought out than the past albums. It is so free and creative and it makes me keep listening to it.

Adrianne Lenker - Live at Revolution Hall
100

This was one of the most enjoyable listening experiences ever.

Car Seat Headrest - CCF (I'm Gonna Stay With You)
100

This is exactly what I was missing from the first single. This pushed any worries I had to the side and now this white boy is catching a vibe

Car Seat Headrest - Gethsemane
75

I loooove these gay boys but this track is not for me. I think I prefer it far more with the music video because ir just offers so much more to me. It is catchy at times, but not really how I like a long CSH song.

Black Country, New Road - Forever Howlong
98

I really needed a minute with this album, but I think it is such an incredible direction for the band to go. It’s honestly selfish and immature to be angry at the band for leading in this direction, as ants from up there and Issac as a whole was such a lightning in a bottle situation. I feel like they have revived the band in the best way they could and it’s great.

Horse Jumper of Love - Horse Jumper of Love
90

Horse jumper of love is one of those albums that I feel intimately close with. It feels like an older wise friend that I can return to anytime I feel unsure, and I deeply love it for that. The sound of the album feels so full and versatile, while the aura being gutted and painful to get out. And it does all of this in such a short time span too, leaving me feel fucking laid out at the end of the album every time.

Oklou - choke enough
75

Oklou makes pop that I genuinely wanna listen to, and I think that’s special. It’s fun to a point where it’s not like brain rotting fake happiness, but still holds a good amount of something that I can’t put my finger on. I guess melancholy.

Hana Stretton - Soon
70

Just the most gorgeous soundscape with the field recordings of the birds and nature and such, making for a really incredible album. It really evokes a feeling of spring into summer, and it has really led me to focus on a lot of stuff I have been ignoring in my life recently.

Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antarctica
80

This is a record of blabbering nonsense and some of the best written songs I have ever heard. The first five or so songs are by far some of my favorite modest mouse songs. It is not a very friendly intro to them, but it was really where I started with them and i was quite happy with it.

Edward Skeletrix - Fun
95

Yhou on druuugs 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

KAYTRANADA - Timeless
85

Absulutley filled to the bring with fucking bangers, but it does feel like a little too much. I think if it sat more around 45 minutes, it would be perfect. But as it stands, Kaytranada has easily became one of my favourite producers with this project due to his versatility and airy, free flowing tracks. Songs like Dance Dance Dance remain some of my favorites due to their sheer bump-ability.

Roy Blair - Chasing Moving Trains
80

This is a really unexpected gorgeous record. I haven’t heard any of Roy Blair’s stuff before this, and listening to this album feels like I’m getting to know him as someone who is now matured. It’s a very versatile and vibe-y record with a lot of purpose and emotion. I really enjoyed this a lot.

glaive - May It Never Falter
95

This LP does pretty much everything I love from a Glaive album. Tracks like Freudian and IK are full of emotion and meaning. I think some of the momentum is lost in Live & direct, which confuses me. His last song with kurtains, just not sure, was so perfect, but this one throws me for a loop. But aside from that, the album works together really well.

EDIT 87–> 95
This record is nearly perfect. I mean this has some to the songs of the year for me by far. I have cried to this album ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
86

I am biased toward this album as I was a big fan of Cherry Bomb, but this is an incredible output from Tyler. I find it to be his most well-versed and creatively driven album. There are very few misses for me. Even the freaky tracks like Balloon are executed very well imo.

2hollis - gold
95

Backseat, I wanna see you trust me
Backseat, you turn me into something
Backseat in the whip, I learn to love it
Backseat in the whip, I feel disgusted
I mean come on.

Black Country, New Road - For the first time
90

I went into this album having heard Ants From Up There first, so my view was definatley skewed. I really didn’t love this when I first heard it, but as I sat with it, it grew on me very heavily. Tracks like Track X and especially Sunglasses give a kind of desperation and strain that Issac rarely used on AFUP. But as a side note, I love the songs that have multiple versions. Those go to prove their range and just talent in general.

Zach Bryan - The Great American Bar Scene
78

This album definitely does not dive into much new for Zach Brian, but I still really appreciate what he’s doing. I especially like the title track. I have found myself really liking his spoken work a lot.
