This is, without a doubt, one of my favorite albums of all time. The grandioseness and sinisterness of the whole album is incredible. Just from the first song, you get the almost angelic string section and Robert Smiths echoed voice making a perfect opener. My personal experience of this album is rooted from when I was around 8, and countless sob sessions to this. It is sometimes able to evoke a soothing, warm, nostalgic feeling, or it can bring contemplation and solace. A very deserved 100.
One of the few jam band albums that I don’t get bored of halfway through.
Starting with she sends me, a wild energetic song with crazy vocals. This leads pretty well into 32 things that I don’t really love. St Augustine has really grown into me. The story telling is cool and the high vocals draw me in to have a good time. The last minute especially is great.
I’m not a big fan of bring you down, but it is followed by Rebubula, which has to be one of my favorite jam band songs ... read more
Crazy crazy shit. This is my first record from them and it’s a really good start. It’s so always changing and so dynamic. I’m gonna give this seven more listens.
Some of twikipedia’s best up till now. I really feel some big Jane Remover inspirations on it. Especially on songs like Garden and Cardboard boxes.
Brian Eno starts record this cap to his pop career off with exactly what is expected. Very talking heads reminiscent of talking head tracks, especially with some of these bass lines. But the ambient second half, (represented to one of my favourite piano tracks, by this river) he transitions quite quickly into his masterwork of ambient.
I think this album gets more hate than it deserves. It’s got a lot of great sample work, and some really cool flows at times. While they definitely don’t go far to off their basic album sound, I really find myself coming back to some songs on this like Shame.
This album has lived in my head for the past three or so years. I think it’s some of TV Girls best sample usage and mixing. The best examples, I think, are for you and not allowed. I just feel like I can always listen to this album.
A genuine masterclass of electronics and ambient. I think this is apex twins most easily listenable album, but that is not a negative.
I think this is Jeff’s most coherent up till than when it came out. The constantly moving sound and impassioned singing leads to an extremely fun and honestly inspirational album.
I think I like British people a little bit more with every new post-punk, art rock album I hear from them. BCNR and these guys are doing some incredible things.
The writing and vocal delivery are incredible on tracks like the first three. They really show her wide range of emotions she can convey very quickly.
I think the bass guitar would have to be my favorite part of the instrumental. It feels so oddly warm and summery on tracks like Broken Biscuits, but has the ability to pull ... read more
She did it again.
Just very bland and uninteresting. The lyrics are painfully cheesy and out of touch at times.
I am absolutely obsessed to see where he is going to go, and I love this project. His guitar tone is just so incredible and his careening vocals are lovely.
This is wayyyy better than the first one. The production on all of the tracks are so incredible, especially the first two.
I’ve been siting with this ep and Adam Gnade for a year or so now, and it has not failed to blow me away. His incredible way of storytelling and bulging the setting in his Conor Oberst-ish voice works so incredibly. And the hot earth all stars are pretty incredible as well.
