This is just another incredible record from Bowie. It's way looser than Ziggy Stardust, and it feels more personal aswell, witth Bowie being very vulnerable lyrically on songs like 'Station to Station' and 'Word on a Wing'. But for every emotional song you get a more upbeat track like 'Golden Years'. This really makes the album feel like an emotional rollercoaster. I love the fact that this album is so consice, it makes the album very replayable. 'TVC ... read more
Is this how 'Rust in Piece' sounds to Megadeth haters?
Instrumentally this album is quite decent with a handfull of actually good moments. But man, Dave Mustaine just pisses all over the songs. He lost all his charm vocally that he had in 'Rust in Piece' for me. The guy actually sounds like an 80 year old man. There is not a fucking glimpse of passion in his voice. And if that wasn't bad enough, the lyrics are god afwul. I think the average 14 year old could write ... read more
I kinda had to listen to this album, because I love Metallica and Megadeth dropped an album today, which I'm probably going to check out aswell. And yeah, this is just some of the most thrilling metal music I've ever heard, truly a thrash masterpiece. The solo's are of course fucking mind-blowing and the riffs are so exiting to listen to. And while Dave Mustaine doesn't have the best voice ever, I have grown to appreciate his vocals with repeated listens. Like I can't ... read more
Some albums transport me to antother world, and Kid A is definetly one of them. But no album has transported me to such a weird world like this one. It's just a little off, like everything about this world is a little uncanny. I think the album cover depicts that word just perfectly. I love it so much when an album sounds like the cover, it's just a really nice detail. I totally get why this the personal favourite Radiohead album of many fans. I think the album is just a tad bit less ... read more
Yeah, I'm a bit underwhelmed. While I do like this album, it just doesn't stand up to his best work. The are some great highlights here like 'PUNK ROCKY', 'STOLE YA FLOW' and 'STOP SNITCHING, but the highlights definetly don't reach the quality of his best songs. Well, except for the first half of 'DON'T BE DUMB / TRIP BABY', which is just heavenly, but the second half drags the song down significantly. And why does Westside Gunn have ... read more
