It's hit or miss, but when it hits then it REALLY hits.
Most aggressive title so far chronologically. The songs are not boring to go throught, albeit, it still could be a little more juicy in midsection of the songs.
Still, nice and enjoyable listen. And it sounds different from their previous work.
FAV - Larks' Tongues In Aspic, Pt. 1
I couldn't find anything remarkable for myself. So far, first album from KC that none of the songs I've added to library.
Can't say much of this LP either, as again, nothing remarkable for me.
Obnoxiously their weakest LP so far. Was fun to listen, but there is no good composition that worth coming back and taking relisten to this album.
The instrumentals and ideas, however were fun to listen to. Albeit, overall feel of album gave me some circus music vibes.
FAV: Happy Family
As their previous title, this LP somewhat struggles with experimentation identity.
While some tracks completely slapping, the sudden change in mood leaves a weird taste to swallow.
Nonetheless, an improvement in experimentation is noticeable, especially if we will compare The Devil Triangle with previous LP's Moonchild.
Overall, enjoyed this LP, have some misses, sadly, but other tracks geniuly slap.
FAV - Pictures of a city, Catfood
Least FAV - Peace - ..., Cadenence and Cascade.
Nice, long song progression, but I am not a big fan of it.
Has some crazy moments in it too.
Nice, futuristic album that sounds like being on a planet full of microplastic-based lifeforms.
It can get somewhat too ambient sometimes, but still very flashy LP overall, I like it.
Fav - ◙◙◙◙◙◙◙◙, ◙◙◙◙◙, ◙◙◙
It kinda sounds exactly how cover looks like.
Personally, the perfect maximum I can handle between digital hardcore and hyperpop/chiptune influenced album
It's... Different to his previous production. Production is below his previous releases for sure, somewhat stale even.
Although I still think it's decent work from him.
In fact, I think this album was the first indication that he's done with making music professionally for fans, and rather lean into making music as his hobby. It gets even more noticeable in his next works.
Still, an okay listen.
This album is his most personal and saddest work he's ever done.
And yet it's one of his best.
Hey, it's quite nice, groovy track. Yes, not his best, but it's not as bad as people think.
Decent work for demos. I think his best demo works are here.
A bit flat thought.
Very pretty and soft lo-fi/pop instrumental collection from Mac!
Ahh, nostalgia...
Not my piece of cake, especially since I am not a big fan of lives. However, kudos on chaotic yet comprehensible execution.
But I can understand why it is liked. And hey, I enjoyed listening to it.
Sadly I didn't found appeal of this album to myself, like I did with his previous works.
Nonetheless, great listen to "modern" Aphex Twin.
I believe, it's just not my cup.
Very nice to fall asleep to.
Other than that, I find it hard to give it a listen on other occasions.
