finally gave AJR a taste. I do not like it very much, personally. the very on-surface lyricism really kills any chance of me saving the songs that I do vibe with into any playlists
my favorite part is the part everyone hates 😭 that drop with the chopped/pitched vocals is so hard
I liked it but didnt love it. The album feels kinda all over the place.
I felt similar with Clancy, but this record triggered that feeling much more prominently. With Downstairs being a 14-year-old demo and Robot Voices being a recreation of another band's song - it makes it feel like they were reaching for scraps and old side-projects to make the tracklist longer.
