I had a lot of fun listening to this album, the instrumentals are insane, guitar solos are insanely good, bass is awesome, drums are fast and clean. The vocals are what make it for me though, the clean singing to the deep growls are incredible. Though this the first Opeth album I've listened to, it most certainly won't be my last
Holy balls. This album is atmospheric and sad. A great album that conveys some very traumatic experiences in the author (or characters) life with childhood illness and trauma, to a toxic relationship later on in life and the helplessness that comes with that, to the feeling of being too old and too young at the same time (something I myself are struggling with atm). Banger icl. Great grunge record, reminded me a lot of Bleach by Nirvana. Amazing songs though with some great vocal runs and screams. The guitars and riffs were probably my favourite part of this. The drums could have maybe been used a bit more effectively than just keeping the beat in the background. However, the rest of this album is awesome.
This was a good album. I think this a great debut album for any band let alone one as good as Pink Floyd. It sets up a lot of different motifs that Floyd would be known for further down the line. Some very goofy songs in here but none that seem to set the band up as a joke band making joke music. Very good.
