the consensus around this in their discography is that, this is the WEAKEST due to being repetitive. but in my opinion that adds a lot as an album experience. i will return to this full project significantly more than their other ones because of its consistency of its sound, the rest of their sounds across their discog cannot compare to the heavy feeling of governement plates, and they DO TRY to replicate this one more than other projects they did.
the lyrical contents on this album are degenerate and filled with the thoughts of a man warped by the substances his mind got HOOKED on, dependant on the feeling you and the mind cannot feel natural without it. its a very easy rabbit hole to fall into as i did, these lyrics you laugh at, likely do have some truth in their horrifyingly altered thoughts, danny brown is a rehab survivor, this and atrocity exhibition are very good at being anti drug PSAs.
this is easily one of the best albums ever i cant believe it went under my radar
the amount of people that think beware is LITERAL in being about a death cult is so annoying, EXMILITARY ITS IN THE TITLE ex "MILITARY" please, it is so obviously about the united states military and how they bleed into the conscious of its concripts, they turn you all into murderers with killing being the first thought in your mind landing in a foreign country, basically an invading death cult WHO SACRIFICE to rise beyond, the people who enter these countries believe they are doing ... read more
"destructive infinity" makes this album a 10 but its not on here unfortunately. realm of chaos is the in the middle of an endless war that sees the destruction of worlds. but war master SOUNDS like the beginning to this brutal war, an obvious nod to the old world in warhammer. its clearly the rawest show of death metal in this band and i would have legitimately started here if i could.
okay i actually understand this album now that i am a warhammer 40k fan. and it is really good!
this mixtape probably changed a million rapper lives, because i cannot think of a more influencial mixtape from this decade if wanted to. ON TOP of the influence its also just the best of its genre, this production style is so obvious, and you've heard it thousands of times but i just dont see any with the personality of SPACEGHOSTPURRP, with the exception of maybe LIL ugly mane (but hes obviously a big part in the creation of this mixtape)
its impressive how consistent this production ... read more
every person on planet earth should experience this production at least once in their lives. WOW.
wow i cant believe this is worse than i remember, and it was already one of my least favorite albums ever too. just like last time, early songs get you invested and then INSTANT coma with every other song, although this time i thought black paint was the star here instead of death grips is online. i will give it credit disappointed was a pretty decent outro but it really isnt enough to save probably the MOST BORING ALBUM OF ALL TIME.
i have made it through these recent weeks with hope of finding someone to talk to, every silent lonely passing day individually isn't usually a problem, but as the months add up i have only found myself thinking about what little time i have left before the sharp feeling of being alone consumes my decision of life.
obviously, severe depression, betrayal and (drug induced) psychosis have led me to this point, and are also common themes seen on this album. music that is this personal has ... read more
so far i like what i hear! though i still should give this time to grow on me, i was a little stunned at first because of how aggressive and original it sounded but that kinda wore off a couple of tracks in. notably, the sample work is VERY GOOD, especially on track 8 and 13. i will be relistening to this at some point and i probably will give other machine girl albums a chance
by a LONG shot the greatest vocal perfomance by system of a down ever, the chorus after the second verse is so perfect, such a beautiful voice from both singers their chemistry in this specific song is so on point.
this whole album is shrouded with darkness, the loud distorted guitars of electric wizard siren around the bleak world they created with sounds alone, the guitars warp the darkness around it to shape a beautiful and ethereal sound while still keeping the apocalyptic vocals and themes, literally the only way to explain how this album sounds its so unique nothing i've ever heard before can warp your view on both music and reality until this beast showed up.
though it is a hard recommendation due ... read more
i think this is the most beautiful song ever released by nirvana, showed to me just how amazing Kurt Cobain really is as a singer and listening to it has really helped, god i wish someone could have saved Kurt Cobain.
this is absolutely a must hear, even if it was just flesh and the power it holds it would still be a must hear its shocking how many riffs each song has and there is not a single bad one, excellent addition to death's flawless discography
although the opening track is metal perfection, unfortunately this album is really in the shadow of their former album realms of chaos and then later ...for victory but its still worth a listen
literally grunge cannot get better than this, still in shock at how fresh and consistent all the songs are on here, i must have listened to them bones millions of times.
you gotta be stoned or anything but sober to truly appreciate this album and experience it how it was made to be experienced, very slow and powerful riff in the first song with some heavy vocals, it sounds amazing for its ludicrous run time. the second song depends on the version you listen to but it is just more of the same stuff.
