Bladee - Eversince
74

Eversince is a very production-driven and atmospheric album. The appeals lie less in lyrical content or vocal prowess and much more in the overall vibe, which is very hit-or-miss. I personally enjoy the aesthetic, though lyrical shortcomings and a lack of variety between songs made this feel less enjoyable than it could have. Bladee offers some memorable flows and lines, though the tracklist would benefit from less filler or more distinct songs

Joji - BALLADS 1

A decent album, definitely felt like it fell flat towards the end though. Joji still suffers from what made In Tongues so mediocre, the fact that his songs can be very one-note, though he has made major steps forward on Ballads 1. Stronger vocal performances and more varied production place this album a step above his previous one though he still has a ways to go before his music can truly stand on its own in my opinion.

Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory

A very strong album with a satisfying combination of the distinctive sounds of UK garage and west coast hip-hop. A number of tracks (especially those produced by SOPHIE) make use of a more industrial sound palette, meshing surprisingly well with Staples' emotionally and socially charged bars. The project explores a variety of tones throughout its tracklist, proving Staples' versatility

BROCKHAMPTON - iridescence

Solid performances across the group on this album, though the spark that was so clear during the Saturation trilogy seems to have dimmed a bit. I didn't find the tracks on this album drawing me in in the same way, though a number of gems are on this project. Simultaneously more melodic and noisy than their previous projects, this album is certainly worth a listen

KIDS SEE GHOSTS - KIDS SEE GHOSTS

Thoroughly emotional and unique album driven by strong performances by both West and Cudi. At a tight 7 tracks the album delivers next to no filler with each track having a clear role in the overall mood of the album
