The more glaive delves into a more interesting direction musically the more his songwriting and character become unappealing and redundant to me.
I feel devastated.
I feel powerless.
I feel ashamed.
Blu & Exile's passion and appreciation for the artform are something to behold.
I actually really like Carti's part here but Abel puts me to sleep...
"truthfully don't give a fuck about this rap shit" we can tell Larry June
I think she's got an appealing aesthetic down and her voice is really refreshing and gorgeous. Unfortunately, for me majority of the longer cuts don't really keep me hooked for their entire runtime and feel a bit unfocused. Enjoyable record and Yanya clearly has tons of talent and potential.
After years of avoiding this album for whatever reason I finally gave it a try and I can't deny the sheer fun I had listening to this.
The production is playful, boundlessly creative while retaining a certain straightforward bounce to it. The features are pretty fitting, do the tracks justice the majority of the time and just add more variety and color to the musical palette of "NO_ONE EVER REALLY DIES".
Personally, some of the ideas here don't always form into ... read more
Randomly got this recommended by someone and checked it out.
What immediately struck me was the various styles of vocals that had me instantly engaged and are probably the number one stand out of this project for me. Don't want to take away from the killer performances and numerous pretty memorable passages throughout "What Passes For Survival" though. The album keeps its grip around me very consistently and increases to brutally thrash me around sonically.

idc what anyone says this was my shit when "Reestablishing Connection" first dropped and i still love it
The hype is real!
The most vibrant and fun album I've heard in a while. "Imaginal Disk" manages to embody everything that makes Synthpop appealing to me in addition to Magdalena Bay shaping and polishing their sound. Just recently got into their music but this is all I could've asked for.
While "shadowbox" isn't necessarily a display of MAVI's growth as an artist or lyricist it's a strong return to form after "Laughing so Hard, it Hurts". The rapper's third full-length LP refines what made his debut so appealing in my opinion and brings forth a both somber and curative, emotionally captivating record.
Trippy, eccentric, multifarious and endlessly engaging.
Picked this and "Good News For People Who Love Bad News" up on CD this weekend and it has been on repeat since. So many styles and ideas that come together effortlessly and brim with detail, color and character.
"I wanna make it to christmas but I fall off the bone" literally made me break down in tears the first time I heard it
Pretty standard, short Navy Blue record.
Obviously comes with nourishing, reflective lines that stick and emotional highlights (especially "La Noche", god damn) but flies by pretty fast.
