my 300th rating. i decided to go with something very memorable (even though 300 isnt really all that significant), and when I saw this was 7 hours, i knew this would do the trick. drone isn't really a genre i've explored much, but i've liked what i've heard so far, for the most part. looking at the tracklist its pretty eerie, and it definitely sounds like that on disc 1. the first track and second track feels like a satanic ritual, and then the track 3 is like the screams ... read more
i like this album by aaliyah, it has some really good highs and its overall a good r&b album. aaliyah always had great vocals, n the productions good too.
i really love this album n id really love to give it a higher score, but unfortunately the 2nd half is a lot weaker than the first, which was so good, vocals are great, melodies are beautiful, snooze been one of my most played songs oat n it still never gets old, R&B albums like this are always so good when you listen to them as a whole but the later half just doesn't help with that case, lord knows how sza managed to double the songs of an already bloated album
kind of boring the more it goes on, its good hip hop for sure but its not exactly interesting and very predictable when it comes to production and flow, and every time it seems like its gonna do something interesting it just reverts to what we’ve been hearing the whole time. though there’s some decent lyricism on here.
not the biggest fan, didn't sound good to me with very very weak vocals and samples so the next course of action would be to see what it represents artistically, and i didn't get much out of that either. not all bad though, i liked 'Starbound'.
damn this album is good. wayne dips his toes into a a lot of different things here, and he does all of them really well, honestly this album does just about everything right for a rap album, it has something for everyone; the classic bangers in 'Lollipop' n 'A Milli' are obvious, but theres really good lyricism all over this album as well, like 'Dr Carter' or the intro. there's some clever song concepts, and wayne really was that guy when it comes to wordplay. ... read more
