Doja Cat - Demons
80

What's with the bad reviews- this song was good. I guess it was designed to be a "love or hate" type of song. But her flow is disgusting in this song and the odd instrumentations play really well into the song. However, I found the textures of the 808s to be terrible and awful. Other than that I am happy doja is doing something new!

Victoria Monét - JAGUAR II
93

Victoria Monet's debut album shows that RnB is booming! This is a very well-put-together album but suffers from very minute flaws songwriting wise. However, other than that this is easily the best RnB album of 2023 so far! EDIT- HOW IS THE USER SCORE BELOW 80- this is a masterpiece

Ashnikko - WEEDKILLER
28

This genre is... hard. The ethel song is of course a masterpiece and the rest of the album is- well bad. However, Congratulations! (This album to me takes everything Melanie Martinez wants to be and does it correctly. Yet it is still horrid) EDIT- Every time i listen my rating goes down so i stopped listening for Ashnikko's sake.

Kelly Clarkson & Ariana Grande - Santa Can't You Hear Me (Live)
NR

This is how to make a Christmas song.

Ethel Cain - Preacher's Daughter
99

This might as well be the darkest album I have ever experienced. Ethel Cain is a masterful storyteller and she is able to put through her music EVERY SINGLE EMOTION that she feels. One of the best albums I have EVER heard. However, some of the songs struggle (VERY SLIGHTLY) from pacing issues.

Anne-Marie - UNHEALTHY
8

If there was any redeeming quality to this album, I would name it right now. NOPE- this album ranges songs from god awful to mediocre, the first half filling the majority of it's 32 minute runtime.

Shania Twain - Queen of Me
NR

Congratulations Shania- legendary artist, on this album, which worked hard to copy a sound pioneered by Lady gaga but fell apart in doing so.

Jack Harlow - Jackman.
50

I don't like it. I don't hate it. It's just pure mediocricity and boredom.

Post Malone - AUSTIN
29

How can an album be so boring, that while there are some (very limited) good ideas, even those are ruined by the flawed execution. This album is flawless in being a horrid mess.

Addison Rae - AR
65

This shocked me, while this project is nowhere near the top- it was still better than many mainstream artists today.

Foo Fighters - But Here We Are
77

While the album makes for a solid project, it lacks much of the charm of the Foo Fighter's previous albums.

Reneé Rapp - Snow Angel
92

I was shocked to see the amount of mixed responses this album got. Where this album has minor issues with cohesiveness it easily makes up for it in variety and Renee's voice.

Hozier - Unreal Unearth
89

Would be one of the best albums of the year if it weren't to be brought down by some painstaking outliers.

Horrendous - Ontological Mysterium
67

Not my favourite genre, but judging it from a critical point of view. The album suffers from a lack of purpose distributed through most of the songs leading to it feeling like Horrendous is not fully committing (in terms of songwriting)

Lana Del Rey - Blue Banisters
69

This album features many great standout tracks, but fails to be a cohesive project, a first for Lana Del Rey. In fact, it is not a strech to say that every single track, on it's own is very appealing to listen to, but does it stand strongly on the album... no

Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence
99

This album solidifies Lana Del Rey's position as an innovator in society. While met with mixed reviews and negativity from her record label, Lana chose to put out the art that she believed in. This album, while very different from her previous albums, lets Lana be more authentic and experiment with her music.

Lorde - Melodrama
100

This has got to be one of the greatest returns to music. Lorde defies the sophomore album curse to create a piece of music worth studying for all the creative decisions taken. Every single decision taken by Lorde as an artist has purpose and elevates the piece, something most mainstream artists fail to do.

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
100

Who said perfection wasn't real? Certainly not Kendrick as this album is flawlessly cohesive however, in the process it doesn't lose the greatness riddled throughout the tracks. Each track is perfect and stands out on its own, but it is the way they piece together in the album that elevates this album to be one of the best.

Lana Del Rey - Norman Fucking Rockwell!
100

Lana has created a masterful demonstration of how to piece an album together. The album is perfectly cohesive both with it's soundscape, instrumental palette and lana's vocals that elevate all the track. This is the first and only album in which all songs listened to have been a 99 or a 100. This is an album surely to go down in history as one of the best.

Jon Batiste - World Music Radio
56

The album is a masterful demonstration of uncohesiveness and wrong choices. However, despite most of the songs being bad to mediocre, the Lana del rey feature was a masterful demonstration of songwriting.

"Interesting opinion, however, I don't think it is quite valid. Blue banister, in terms of cohesivity, does not hold a candle to TPAB. However, if this case were to be made with NFR it would be very valid. Both Lana and Kendrick innovate with their magnum opus' (NFR and TPAB) however, in different ways and unfortunately NFR isn't as respected as TPAB due to issues you mentioned."
