Frank Ocean - channel ORANGE
96

Frankly speaking, I like Channel Orange more than Blonde.

Kate Bush - Hounds of Love
100

Hello earth, hello Kate

Lorde - Virgin
85

72 -> 85
After looping the album for two days, I appreciate it even more. It's a slow-burning album. Tracks like "Favourite Daughter" and "If she could see me now" just sound better and better.

---------------------------------
A little bit under-expected, but still enjoy every piece of new music from Lorde. Hope she can be more productive, and it's fine to be experimental ;)

Miley Cyrus - Something Beautiful
88

It’s surprisingly good

Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
100

I wish her still alive.

Lady Gaga - Abracadabra
92

Can’t stop the feeling!

Taylor Swift - folklore (deluxe version)
99

One more point given to the lakes, such a piece of hidden treasure.

Justin Bieber - Journals
90

Justin’s career best

The Cure - Disintegration
100

A few years ago, I played to my wife "Lovesong" from Adele's 25, saying it's my favorite song in that album. She said it's a cover and the original version is from the Cure. I was very shocked (musics from 70s and 80s are the best!!!). She then played me the mv of Lovesong on Youtube, which amazed me a lot at the time. Recently, I just decided to visit this whole album. It's just soooo good... I wish I discovered it earlier.

The concept of this album would be much more appreciated if there is more fun and Lorde didn't soften her voice that much.

Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
100

GenZ kids need to listen to this to have a mind blast.
I admire the old times when songs have no shitty cursing and were still popular and good.

Harry Styles - Harry's House
82

A very decent album, sweet, bright. Production is good, lyrics is fine. It also has high peaks - the mega-hit As it Was and less-hit Late Night Talking.
So I still don't understand why it's so overhated.

Lorde - Pure Heroine
88

It's really amazing Lorde wrote this at age of 16.
Buzzcut Season is such a beautiful and emotional song, damn!
I also like the lyrics in 400 Lux, singing "I love these roads where the houses don't change, where we can talk like there's something to say."
Lorde's a-little-coarse voice is unique and good, I wonder why she decided to soften it so much in Solar Power.

Lana Del Rey - Blue Banisters
83

I think Blue Banisters deserves better reception.
It lacks the artistry that is shown in the subsequent project, and its production is not as sophisticated as NFR,
But it's soft, sweet, gentle, dreamy, and touching.

Lana Del Rey - Born to Die
69

It has a few good tracks - Born to Die, Blue Jeans, Video Games, Summertime Sadness, which are really timeless and make Lana well-known. But the rest of the album is really a bit intolerable for me... The screech kind of vocal in some songs is annoying. Thank god, she ditched this way of singing after this.

Taylor Swift - Red
93

Long time ago, I didn’t really like this album, because it sounds too pop, as I was still fond of her country era. The only song I really at the time loved was Begin Again. Now I appreciate this album more. The voice in TV version is deeper and more mature, but I still prefer the original voice. State of Grace is probably her best opening song, and even top 5 in her discography.
Anyway, Pitchfork does have the best opinion here.

Taylor Swift - THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT
78

I still think it's way too overhated, but i also get the point. Taylor has been quite high-key in the past few years. The frequent collaboration with Jack and long-story-telling lyrics makes people aesthetically tired. The last Grammy AOTY win stimulated a lot of dissenting voices. Well, she has to bear all these while enjoying all the fame.

As a Taylor fan, actually I also didn't really like this album at first listen. None of the track really impressed me, and Taylor's voice here is a bit ... read more

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
88

98 ➡️ 88

I just get a little tired very quickly…

This is really amazing!!!

Finneas’ Production is great and Billie’s voice is so beautiful and unique as always. The whole album sounds more mature than the last two. It just gets more and more surprising and amazing from start to end. It Deserves AOTY.

Lana Del Rey - Norman Fucking Rockwell!
98

Amazing album. Discovered NFR and Melodrama while writing my doctorate thesis four years ago. They made the painful writing a wonderful journey.

Taylor Swift - Speak Now
99

I admit folklore is the best album from Taylor in quality-wise, but Speak Now has been my most favorite since it released more than a decade ago. It stands for the original impression of Taylor Swift. The tracks are full of sincere emotions and ahead of time. The lyrics in Mine, Back to December, Never Grow Up are touching. Even the Innocent, which is to diss Kanye, is so damn beautifully written.

"I don't think there is a skip in this album. The track with lowest rating does not mean it's a filler."
