A considerable downgrade from Overcompensate, but still pretty damn great. Overcompensate's pop rap formula has been tried and tested by them, compared to this time trying something new - pop punk. I'm glad they tried, and while it isn't as perfect as Overcompensate, it doesn't have to be.
Dynamic and charming like their old work, with the lyricism, production and vocals of their new work. I really don't wanna jinx it, but this is looking like a homerun.

Tracks 1, 3, and 5 are some of his best. Flat out. I've listened to this entire dudes discography many times over and he's really impressed me.
The other 2 are impressive production-wise, but not much songwriting wise captured me.
If he can pull this off for a full record, we might be witnessing a new (good) era of cavetown. The sleepyhead era kinda lost me, along with the Man's Best Friend slopfest, but worm food was a step in the right direction, and ... read more

fire especially 'you call that a stick?' fuck you all
This seems like the perfect album for me, but no matter how hard I try nothing grasps me (except the title track)
I like the sound this record is going for, but I feel like it only reaches its true potential during Dressed in Black and Forever in Sunset. The rest of it felt sluggish and forgettable to me.
Edit 5/20/24: Train Comes Through has grown on me a ton
