wtf does he mean "at the ray kids movie on the back of the rice krispy"
a joke album. has no right to be this hard
I tried to configure my treadmill settings to reflect the fast and slow parts of this album. I looked like a lobotomized iPad kid and the gym goers probably think I'm insane. I need to listen to more Weatherday IMMEDIATELY!
GOD I know I'm probably rating this too high but I don't care. This has quickly become one of my most listened to albums of the years I love her so muchhh
A project with experimental production that greatly encapsulates the prestigious title of "Autistic Boys Money Clan." There were some silly bars on here, but the rapping sounded lethargic and poorly mixed for the most part.
When I first listened to Sematary I couldn't decide if I loved it or hated it and I'm facing the same dilemma but 10X more enigmatic
"awww what a cute froggy! I'm going to check out this artist's other album covers!!!"
I have spent the last decade and a half of my life clowning on country music just to be nearly brought to tears by an album with the stupidest looking cover I've ever seen. I am genuinely so disappointed in myself for ever being so closed minded. Magnolia Electric Co. exhibits the perfect blend of heartbreaking lyrics and melancholic guitar riffs with a flavorful tinge of southern charm. Because of my preconceived beliefs I was a little turned off by the vocals at first but they ended up ... read more
Rainbow Edition can best be described as the sonic embodiemnt of the period following a high but preceeding its accompanying hangover. This album has that liminal mystique that comes with Dean Blunt's atmospheric production that draws parallels to other vaporwave-adjacent projects. Every track feels like an interlude you'd hear on a hypnagogic pop album, which makes for a soothing compilation of lo-fi hip-hop soundscapes. At the same time, it feels like this project would be better ... read more
[EDIT 1] fuck it this is getting a 90
I've been on an e-punk binge recently, and while I had seen Gaburgably appear in my Discover Weekly a handful of times, I had never actually taken the time to listen to one of her albums all the way through. One day I decided to put her newest project on shuffle and was immediatley impressed with what I heard. Gaburger is an electronic indie pop masterpiece that deserves far more recognition than it currently receives. If I had to describe this album ... read more
This album is everything Playboi Carti's MUSIC attempted to accomplish and MORE. I started listening to Jane Remover after I saw her open for JPEGMAFIA'S "I Lay Down My Life For You" tour, and I was extremely hyped for this album based on the singles that released periodically before its release. Jane has proven herself to be an innovator in the electronic genre time and time again, and this album is yet another undeniable piece of evidence supporting her status. This album ... read more
Codeine and Pizza is one of those albums that sounds EXACTLY like the cover. Hazy cloud production accompanied by lyrics so vulgar you'd think this album is parodying itself half the time. There wasn't a single disappointing beat on this project, and the songs blend together perfectly to create an atmosphere paramount to any other introduction to Memphis rap out there. The aforementioned lyrics could've definitely used some variation. Here's a fun challenge: every time Chris ... read more
While I wasn't blown away by this album, it's incredibly melancholic to see how much potential wifiskeleton had as an artist in the indie scene. I'm not going to sit here and act like I was a OG fan, as I had only heard about him after his death, but I can see why people found his style so appealing. This project is simple but fun, and while there were a couple tracks I found myself adamantly disliking, it does have its redeeming qualities. Despite his inexcusable actions I still ... read more
