STOP DOING YAKOUSEI
TRENDS WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE GIVEN GENRES
YEARS OF RELEASES yet NO REAL-WORLD USE FOUND for going deeper than YOASOBI
cant tell if they’ve actually gotten way worse or if my tolerance for this kind of music is just in the shitter
yo i did a full youtube review of this https://youtu.be/PYpvTxQ-kPY
short quick review: this thing is awesome. weird cross between crazy edm and 90's shibuya-kei. it's produced perfectly and bounces back and forth with ease. kinda reminds me of the pasocom music club album from this year, and just like that album it's fantastic
oh wow this is even worse than i thought
dream has assembled a collection here of 7 of the most vapid and soulless pop songs ever created. these instrumentals sound like they were shat out by some AI program designed to take the most annoying sad boy music tropes and incoherently slap them together. this was perfectly designed to get on an h&m playlist and drive one of the employees to vehicular manslaughter with how bad and annoying it is. i'm not sure if dream was contracted by ... read more
as a girl who does not personally love jungle i have bad news for these two
this is noticeably more organized and consistent (thematically and musically) than a lot of his earlier work, but it's also the first time i've heard a project from him and gone "that's something i've heard before". half the reason i like him is the disorganized chaos and weird mash of ideas he tends to present. this is disappointing on that front

Welcome to a review of the new Local Visions and Yuka Nagase collab album, OACL. This album brings together 9 producers from Japanese electronic label Local Visions, and lets them work with vtuber/virtual idol Yuka Nagase. It’s also pretty cohesive, which is impressive ... read more
the instrumental is quite good but the entire time i'm left feeling like this would be amazing if it was a normal TK song. instead it's just mid
lyrical school has turned from a fun girl idol group to a bunch of music execs throwing anything they think will be popular with kids in a blender and then forgetting to ever turn the blender off. this is the most corporate sounding shit i have ever heard in my life
the title track here is hyperpop, rap, and noise rock all the same time what the fuck is going on
TMP's full debut album "Vector" is kinda iffy but this is one of the most immediately fun and catchy songs i've heard in a while. great stuff
if you've ever wanted to hear surf bungaku kamakura but slightly worse in every possible way, i have the album for you!
lil soft tennis (yes that is an incredible artist name) is throwing a ton of shit at the wall here, and while not all of it works, i'm always down to hear stuff like this that actually pushes boundaries. it also feels pretty cohesive considering it shoves 9 songs full of different styles in 23 minutes so that's worth some bonus points
naming ur ep MID and putting it in giant letters on the cover is an interesting choice, especially when it's actually really good
