It feels like it's trying to be two things at once: it's own zany and lighthearted thing (Frankie Sinatra, Noisy Eater), and a more conventional follow up to SILY (Subways and the transition from it to Going Home, and Colours). I wished they had chose one or the other (the fun and zany would have been better).
In retrospect, this isn't the masterpiece I thought it once was, and the first half absolutely crushes the second half. Still good, though.
Crushed Little Stars is one of the best songs from her I've heard, so far. Overall, however, it just doesn't reach Makeout Creek's heights.
Edit... ok. I still think this is a disappointment , but not as big of one as I initially believed. Everything is so quiet and mellow, it really threw me off. I just wish I got a little more bite to the songs than what's on offer here. The two that come the closest are Best American Girl and Crushed Little Stars (which are my favorites).

I saw a few publications using 'she' so needless to say I was a bit caught off guard with the masculine vocals. Depsite that, I do like them. The lyrics can get a little preachy at times (especially on Obama), but it's never *too* overbearing. Overall, pretty good.
