this is fun distilled into musical form.
this is the concept of "Awesome" physically manifesting on earth as a Dance Punk band.
this is "every friend i show this to, regardless of music taste, thinks this goes hard".
this is one of the best live shows ive ever been to.
this is my go-to remedy for a bad mood.
will my ears or my body ever grow tired of this formula? maybe. but i think itll take at least a few more years before they can build any kind of immunity.
some messy performances and mixes take away from otherwise good songs, but this album is still a thrashing fun time
the first time i listened to this, it was during my morning commute to work. big mistake. i could tell the music was technically impressive, but it just didnt grab my attention and i got bored after a while.
do yourself a favor and listen to this album in a quiet room, where you can give it your full, undivided attention, and it will reward you greatly. when i did, i went on one of the most beautiful, comforting, and awe-inspiring musical journeys that has ever graced my ears.
i will treasure ... read more
musically, its an unhinged mix of a dozen or so styles, seamlessly switching back and forth between feverish & tender, executed to near perfection by a massive ensemble of masterful musicians.
lyrically, its a disturbingly detailed portrayal of pathetic men drowning their sorrows in prostitutes, hiding their insecurities behind delusions of grandeur, and desperately trying to convince the world and themselves that their miserable lives are worth remembering.
when combined, it makes for ... read more
hypnotic, repetitive beats provide the foundation for hauntingly beautiful melodies. a cerebral, eerie listen.

aoty is sadly missing the ????? version, which adds some great material in my opinion.
as for the regular version: some songs are not fleshed out enough or dont add any new ideas to the tracklist. but when it works, this album delivers intricately layered ballads and grooves from another dimension.

the disk finally clicked into place in my head. this album is practically perfection. the soundtrack of two human beings breaking through into the best versions of themselves.
this project feels like Noer flexing his sound design muscles while exploring more ambient soundscapes. the songs on this album have extremely simple structures, but they are stacked with so many otherworldly textures that the songs feel like living alien beings, inside of which every snare hit is a heartbeat triggering more random noises rippling across its entire body.
few pieces of music immerse me in a space as much as this one does, and i just wish there was more of it.
stylistically a bit incoherent, but the material is great. Good News is my personal favorite, featuring drum breaks that are chopped to hell and back, creating ridiculous grooves that have my head bopping in seemingly incomprehensible rhythms.
from what ive heard, Sewerslvt is a pretty toxic person with a toxic fanbase, and i have no interest in getting any deeper into all that drama.
i am also not really all that into this genre usually, but this album clearly comes from a very dark and emotional place, as it is dedicated to the artist's late girlfriend.
the music is quite good, the journey is harrowing, and it even brought me to tears at one point.
im still not head-over-heels for it as i simply find this style of electronic ... read more
seriously underrated in my opinion. the first half of this record is filled to the brim with amazing tracks. the second half definitely pales in comparison but the overall experience is still great.
This album takes a step back from JPEG‘s signature mix of random-sample-heavy industrial cacophony to deliver some songs with a more stripped back sound. Some of these tracks are not much more than straightforward synth ballads. And yeah, it’s pleasing to the ear, but I just don’t think its Peggy’s strong suit.
When you are delivering a simple sound like that, I want to hear solid songwriting with good structure and progression. But like his other albums, the songs on ... read more
Peggy is back doing what he does best: spitting aggressive, off-the-cuff bars over utterly insane beats. Almost every song has some great musical ideas, even if its just a short instrumental interlude. I'd like to especially mention the outro of New Black History, which is one of the hardest things ive EVER heard. moshing to that at the live show was mindblowing.
Notably, the last leg of the album takes a much more somber, melodic tone, with Peggy becoming more introspective and ... read more
A solid effort from Travis. There is some filler but most of the songs bring something interesting to the table.
As usual with Hip Hop of this ilk, i wish it was more sonically ambitious and varied, but of course the simple beats are just there to be a stage for Lupe, who certainly passes with flying colors.
An impenetrable wall of noise that doesn't give the songs any room to breathe. But the emotions are raw and palpable. A difficult but intriguing listen.
There are highlights for sure. But the majority of this project is trap slop with a glossy veneer that bloats a great EP to a frustrating album.
