I started this album around 2:00 PM and I ended at 9:20 PM (SAST), and when I tell you I couldn't put into words how excited I was to listen to this, I mean it. I was kicking my feet up in the air yesterday night at the thought of it.
Wow... just wow. I'm honestly blown away. I don't know where to even begin. I feel as if this will be nearly impossible to make a review for. I can't imagine I'll be able to do justice for this one of a kind album, if you ... read more
Converge really decided to go silent for five years just to release two albums 5 months apart
Converge has built a very distinct and recognizable sound over the years while still leaving room for experimentation, but this project stands out a lot more sonically in the case of Converge; Hum of Hurt is very friendly compared to the rest of the discography, and this is a band that's very well known for having their heavy moments. I'm not against this direction and find it to be a rather ... read more
If putting people in deep slumbers were a competition, Drake would get a gold medal.
What does Drake get from publishing over an hour of material that's in no way worth anybody's time? Trimming this album to a little bit under 40 minutes, while it still wouldn't be mediocre, would make for a listening experience that's 20 times better. The production and flows are more on point than ICEMAN's two sister albums but still lackluster at best. The lyrics also, thankfully, ... read more
Undoubtedly worse and greater than HABIBTI.
The lyrics are practically the same as the previous entry in his discography, but where the two albums diverge is in the music itself; instead of being inoffensively boring, it's offensively bad, and I'm completely fine with that, in fact, I prefer it. It's honestly baffling how half of these sound design choices were made. Who thought it'd be a great idea to make a dude from Toronto rap on Hip House beats while doing a Jamaican ... read more
Unbearably bland, creepy as hell, overly mellow.
I've never listened to a Drake album, and I've only taken the time to listen to a few of his hits and some other snippets, and while I did promise I'd never listen to his music in full, I thought the rollout for ICEMAN was pretty funny in a comically bad sense, so I thought to myself, why not just listen?
None of the material that HABIBTI presents is good or even compelling for that matter or fact, and the way it's all ... read more
I went into this with a clear mind in hopes of possibly enjoying it, and while I didn't quite get as much out of it as I was wanting, I still enjoyed the overall experience partially due to the pacing being very well done and not tiring me, but also the half-decent hooks seen on tracks like Body to Body and One More Night really made this way more bearable and worthwhile than if it was without them, but other than those two elements, I didn't find any pleasure in this. The production ... read more
