Dorian Electra - Dorian Electra
40

Great song selection for a cover album but the covers themselves are unfortunately a tiny bit awful.

Type O Negative - October Rust
80

Don't let Peter Steeles apparently stunning beauty distract you from how funny this album is. New agenda. 🙏
(that aside, this is actually such a cool fusion of Metal, Dream Pop and presumably hard drugs)

Sun Kil Moon - Common As Light and Love Are Red Valleys of Blood
80

This is borderline not even music but it just happens to be some pretty engaging borderline-not-even-music.

David Bowie - 1. Outside (The Nathan Adler Diaries: A Hyper Cycle)
80

Overlooked and underappreciated I think! Overall a very odd, atmospheric and experimental album for Bowie but there are still so many simply-great tracks here too: Hello Spaceboy, I'm Deranged, Strangers When We Meet...
Belongs in a Bowie Top 10 and is his best late-career album [minus Blackstar ofc] imo. 🐐

Erykah Badu - Mama's Gun
90

THE Neo-Soul album of all time probably. Groovy, catchy, memorable, well-produced and many more adjectives I'm sure.

Gorillaz - The Mountain
90

Now THIS is the band that made Plastic Beach! 🙏🙏🙏

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb
80

DBD doesn't necessarily reach the highs of Rockys best material [Bass, 1Train, Holy Ghost, ...] but - as an album - it's consistently great fun.

Poppy - Empty Hands
50

Empty Hands isn't a Zig-level-tragic-misstep but it's still an uncharacteristically boring album for Poppy.

FKA twigs - EUSEXUA [Reissue]
90

Girl Feels Good, Perfect Stranger, Childlike Things and Wanderlust arguably make for the most ""pop"" songs on the original version, and while I DO love them all (especially Perfect Stranger, my beloved 🥀), cutting and replacing them with some more "vibe-fitting" songs greatly improves the albums cohesion and general sense of identity.

Very strong first half from Nokia but I think second half is just decent - overall well worth a listen, just not her best imo.

Big Thief - Double Infinity
60

I quite like the three track run starting with Los Angeles, but otherwise Double Infinity sadly marks quite the step down from their monumental last album - or Adrianne Lenkers past few solo albums.

Racing Mount Pleasant - Racing Mount Pleasant
80

Asking the important questions, like: "What if BCNR was on the Life Is Strange (2015) Soundtrack?".

Aesop Rock - Black Hole Superette
70

Love me some Aes! But ngl, second half needed some trimming imo. Still v fun but BHS is more like a mid-tier Aesop Rock album.
(remember: the man is a legend and we stan)

Miley Cyrus - Something Beautiful
80

Every Girl You've Ever Loved has a good chance of being my soty, that shit goes harrrrddd. Also something something unexpected Miley Cyrus BANGER album wtf?! She ATE, or whatever we say now.

Kali Uchis - Sincerely,
80

"Sunshine & Rain" is probably super cheesy but that shit low key beautiful af actually. Also just a fantastic album! Maybe Kali's best?

Jane Remover - Revengeseekerz
90

Thank god! Finally!! Unlistenable noise for people who already like Death Grips!!! 🔥🔥

Skrillex - F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3
80

STRAIGHT INTO MY VEINS MR. SKRILLEX PLEASE, I'M FEELING YOUNG AGAIN

Perfume Genius - Glory
80

LOVE LOVE LOVE this one! It's a Mirror, No Front Teeth, Full On & In a Row are PG classix already and the other tracks are also pretty great - though I'm not crazy about the closer.

Japanese Breakfast - For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women)
80

Someone on the Fantano-reddit said Men in Bars ruins this album and prevents them from getting the vinyl?? WDYM that shit's straight fire, easily the best track here. 😭

Lady Gaga - MAYHEM
80

You know I kind of wish the last three tracks weren't on here, regardless, Mayhem is Gaga on banger duty.
