Honestly super disappointed by this. There’s a lot of potential on here and some of these tracks are amazing but a lot of it is genuinely kinda ear grading and annoying. It has some really high highs but they’re kinda few and far between

This is my third Songs Ohia album and this is easily the darkest I’ve heard so far. It sounds so different from magnolia electric co and didn’t it rain. This is a very atmospheric album that really takes its time to set a mood. There are long stretches on this album with no vocals and they are some of the loneliest moments in music I’ve ever heard. I think I would’ve liked this more if it was mixed higher. Still a pretty good metal album that’s decently disturbing. It can get a bit too repetitive at times to really make you feel anything though

I think this and The Seer are widely considered their most disturbing album for very good reason. This albums so delightfully weird. I’ve heard Uneven Compromise and I think this album is the exact opposite of what I was expecting because of that. It sounds so different from UC it’s crazy. The main difference between the two is obviously the completely different genres.
