I think I need to wait until the summer for this to really hit its peak for me but it's very good and bouncy.
The intro to Empty Pages made me shmoove. I am a big Larry June fan but this wasn't his best work but was still pretty good.
I am in love with Sugar in the Creek. Very solid sweet opener for a sweet project.
The instrumental and production is really good on this whole project and even though Mika isn't the some vocal genius it works really well.
This being 6 years old already makes me feel weird because it is still in the rotation and feels new. Bags is a timeless song for me and even though Clairo's newer projects are way better I can't resist the conflicted vulnerability found in this project.
It's fun when something hits you one way and grows with you as you mature in life. Music is rad :)
Two periods of my life had this as a mainstay.
Smoking in highschool
Smoking in college
I don't like that pattern but I fucking adore this project.
I know that there are only 5 tracks and I'm probably talking from nostalgia but there isn't a skip on this. Every song is really good and probably in my top 10-15 bedroom pop projects.
Peak high school get high and disassociate tunes
Apocalypse is good tbf but this is less sharing a cigarette after sex and more skipping the good part and getting straight to the pass out phase.
Touch, Peel and Stand is the only song I like here. It is very basic grunge that doesn't do anything interesting like the greats of the genre.
Actually writing something here to hopefully spawn a new album announcement.
Protomartyr is legit one of my favorite bands of all time. Everything in their discography should be mandatory listening for anyone into this scene.
I'd lowkey be cool with dying young if it meant to have Joe Casey read my obituary.
Honestly didn't feel this as much as I thought I would given my thoughts on it when I was a kid.
Duality and Before I Forget are still pretty decent tho.
