This is everything I've wanted from her I'm so gagged
Favorites: Confide in me, Surrender, If I was your lover, Where is the feeling, Put yourself in my place, Where has the love gone
It really isn't a 'bad' album. It could just use some more variety and ambition. The songs people say are bad on this really aren't bad.
Edit: if there was no “bad reception” around this album, going in I never would’ve doubted it. The first six songs are undeniably great and the album finishes just as strong in my opinion. I think the hate for this album is very forced for it being commercial-ish for M, but she’s not following the culture wave, ... read more
I find this to be a bit overhyped in the world of Madonna, since she has such higher peaks of innovation, creativity, and songcraft, but nonetheless this is still a super solid dance album from the queen.
Favs: Hung up, Get together, Sorry, Future Lovers, I love New York, Forbidden Love, Jump, Isaac
This album might be the biggest grower.. I found it to be quite lackluster and half-baked on the first listen, with not much standing out, but now everything has clicked and I think I may prefer this to some of her 80s albums and COAD.
Favs: American life, Im so stupid, Love profusion, Nothing Fails, Intervention, Mother and father, Die another day, Easy ride
The poptron / dance-punk sound of this album is so awesome. I want to live inside this
Favs: Tribulations, On repeat, Disco Infiltrator, Great release, Losing my edge, Beat connection, Yeah (both versions), Yr city's a sucker
Still a departure from their early jazz infused sound, Soldier of love is Sade's most mellow album yet. Soldier of love has some of Sade's most arresting elegies (Morning Bird, In another time).
Favorites: the moon and the sky, soldier of love, morning bird, bring me home, in another time, skin, the safest place
I admire them for their new direction, leaving behind the jazz sound of their early career--which I've adored so much (although I miss it). Lovers rock, however, finds a new direction vocally for Sade, one that is more relaxed and somber than their previous output, but one that also has some of the best rhythm in her voice. The production is quite subtle, and at its best (Somebody already broke my heart) it's minimal, yet done right.

I really like these electronic textures here. I find this really pleasing to listen to honestly.
Favs: thank you for recording, family and friends, obvious, choke enough, plague dogs, harvest sky
I love him; he never misses. There's some really great songs here and some others I don't remember yet well enough. Excited to revisit this.
Favs: Its a mirror, clean heart, full on, capezio, dion, in a row
A big fan of a good handful of these songs but the rest are either just there, or unfortunately kind of bad. Still enjoyed this and it gets the favorable score for some massive highlights. She should’ve cooked longer and left off the non-memorable songs.
Favs: eusexua, girl feels good, room of fools, striptease, 24hr dog
