I didn't like it.
There's almost nothing I liked about this. There's also almost nothing I dislike about this, but when every act they remind me of did a lot of things better, even acts I didn't even bother going back to for a full album to log them on here, I wonder how much of this is actually just middle-of-the-road genre chasing music. I didn't like it.
The instrumental performances I found really cool, and there was a bit of spoken word in there that I found refreshing in Black Swan. The interlude of Latvia and the transition into the title track are well done.
But all in all the album feels a little too monotonous. After you've heard one track, you've heard it all. In princinple this isn't bad, but the way it is executed here is uninteresting and has a distracting effect from the music. The vocalists ... read more

Holy shit it's as if the br*tish took clipping., Rage Against The Machine and a single drop of Death Grips and mashed it together. Of course this is polarizing. Bobby says as much, "It's too black." I discovered Calva Louise in 2022 and really liked their singles Belicoso and, later, Feast Is Over. I suppose alternative metal does describe their general direction, with an * for metal that leans more towards rock than the extreme, despite Jessica's frequent screams.
