Freddie God dammit you’ve done it again. Was able to give this album a full listen to again, and wow wow wow. I feel like I said this before, but Freddie and Al is like PB&J. Every feature killed it and I think naming an entire song after that Gas Station Sushi bar was hilarious
I’m sorry Addison, I was unfamiliar with your game. Really loved the utilization of the shorter tracks that transitioned between tracks and bridged the album together. A pretty good debut album, and there is real potential here! Do not knock this album until you listen to it!
Yeah I’ll be real I just did not like this album at all. It took me nearly a week to get through it because I honestly just didn’t want to finish it, but it would be a disservice for me to write it off before listening to the full thing. Shoutout Tech, but this just wasn’t for me. I did enjoy Black Walt Street and What I Do though
Yeah man, this is The Beatles’ best. Just an unreal set of songs all throughout, and even crazier is that they were in utter turmoil during this. How they managed to make their best album when they were actively breaking up is beyond me, but it’s a true miracle we even got this album! The Side B run is insane, and how can you hate an album that has Come Together, Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, and Something all on the same side? Long Live The Beatles!
Feel like this album deserves at LEAST an 80 average for both critics and audience. While it is their weakest album since Help!, this album is still a vital album in The Beatles' discography. Dig It and Maggie Mae were really the only tracks on the album I wasn't a fan of, but they were both under a minute so they do not overstay their welcome. I thought it was really cool they brought back One After 909, a song originally written in 1957. Feels right to have that have a placement on ... read more
A step down from Sgt. Pepper's, but still a phenomenal album. It's wild to think that only the first 6 songs were intended for this album and the rest were just singles that were smacked on there to make it from an EP to an LP in America. Like, what do you mean Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, and All You Need Is Love WEREN'T intended for this album??? I really enjoy Blue Jay Way, and feel it deserves more love. Of course, also a big fan of the title track, The Fool on the Hill, ... read more
Easily one of the greatest albums of all time. Needs absolutely no introduction. I don't even know how to review this because I feel like everything that has to be said about this album has already been said. I wish I could give it a perfect 100, but there are a couple songs on here that I do not fully enjoy (Within You, Good Morning). I could easily see this album sliding into a perfect 100 though!
One of the albums I was excited to get to most in The Beatles discography. The cover always stood out to me, and a lot of people call this their favorite Beatle album. I will say, it for sure lived up to the hype! The amount of classics on this album...Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, Yellow Submarine, Got to Get You Into My Life...wow. Dropping this after Rubber Soul was the beginning of one of the most legendary runs in music history!
What I like to call the middle child of The Beatles' discography, Rubber Soul still shines! It was definitely The Beatles' first phenomenal album, and they would eventually go on to make many more. Tracks like Norwegian Wood and In My Life are major standouts, and still hold up to this day nearly 60 years later. THIS, in my eyes, is where The Beatles became THE BEATLES!
Crazy that the two best Beatles albums (thus far into their discography at least) were soundtracks for movies starring them. I feel like this album is when The Beatles started to become themselves. This album definitely is The Beatles I’m more familiar with, as it had the songs I was more familiar with compared to the first four. Great album.
Not their worst, but most certainly not their best either. This project just felt like a step back from A Hard Days Night and redid the formula of the first two albums (8 originals 6 covers). While I did enjoy the second half more than most people, it still got a bit boring.
Def my favorite Beatles album thus far into their discography. I feel like this is when they began to find themselves. A return to form after With The Beatles! Also the first Beatles album where I enjoyed every track
I MISS THIS ERA OF MUSIC! This sound brings back such nostalgia for me, and it probably plays that much of a role for me because 2018-2019 is when I finally broke out of that stupid, dismissive "everything modern sucks" shell. Also, anything pre-pandemic always feels like a million years ago blah blah blah things people have said a million times. Regardless, I did enjoy my time with this project! IDK is an artist that I have heard in passing (and I have actually followed him on IG for ... read more
Just a worse version of Please Please Me. Still a decent album, just not as entertaining as Please Please Me, and a lot of the songs feel samey. Definitely a step down, and you can tell they were trying to capitalize on Beatlemania
Not bad for an album where you can clearly tell they were just getting started. Mix of covers and original songs, feels more like a compilation than an album experience. Crazy to think this album is over 60 years old at this point!
Modern Dami is something that I think just needs to grow on me, but there’s some pretty good stuff on here! Gonna have to give this some more spins for sure, I could def see me liking this album more as time goes on
I wish I had more to say about this album, but I just don't. I enjoyed every track enough to throw a like on it, but I didn't LOVE any of the tracks. Wasn't a mid project by any means, but it just didn't blow me away. Blow At High Dough and 38 Years Old were still highlights in the tracklist, not sure if I have any lowlights though. Overall, cool project and I liked all the songs, but just not sure how often it'll be in my rotation. Would still be down to check out more ... read more
