Second best DOOM album in my opinion (Madvillainy first obviously). This is everything you want in an album.
This album should be 90+. The production is absolutely amazing (the second-best production on any DOOM album outside of Madvillainy), but DOOM should've rapped on this more. The people here hold their own, but DOOM solo would've turned this into a classic
The debut album by Frank Ocean is a statement. It's an ode to youth, a love letter, and a frantic, sprawling mess of a project. It's a project that can get chaotic at times while being completely simplistic at others. Frank Ocean is obviously an artist with a lot of talent, and talent doesn't rush.
Stunning follow-up to Channel Orange. I wasn't expecting a better album than CO, but that's exactly what we got here.
It's an influential album, but that doesn't mean it's as great as people claim it to be. The autotune is something that we hear more of now, and it's clear who this album influenced.
A landmark album by an artist who struggled for years to be heard as a rapper, but never lost focus. Kanye goes from a "producer who raps" to a rapper/producer.
Kendrick opts for a more trap-oriented sound, while retaining his lyrical ability. Its detractors will say he sold out, but it was likely meant as a return to his roots from before TPAB.
The To Pimp A Butterfly B-sides are good enough to get their own album. Who would've guessed?
Kanye returns after a two year hiatus with the most grandiose, braggadocios, in your face project you may ever listen to. There is no wasted moment here. Kanye was a villain in the public eye before this album because of the VMAs, so he decided to win the people back by releasing one of the greatest rap albums ever created. The definition of a classic.
JID shows his obvious technical flair, but is still finding his lane as a lyricist on this album. His influences are a lot more prevalent than on DiCaprio 2, but that doesn't mean this album is bad at all.
Great re-introduction to the world by DOOM here. He's always been able to rap, but those skills are really on display on this first solo album.
Madvillainy is one of the greatest albums ever made. You don't need me to say anything else. It's really that simple. Rest In Peace to MF DOOM.
Sub isn't the best lyricist you'll ever hear, but the energy and production alone make this album a must-listen.
A compilation album playing like a coherent project is a rarity, but that is certainly the case here.
One of the greatest soundtracks in TV history, bar none.
