Nah this is actually great. Been listening to this since it came out and love it right away!
So, I'm doing a little more detailed re-review and errata on my early review of Scaled And Icy (Clancy Is Dead)
SAI is a musically problematic album and the sonic intentions on the album are confusing.
I have a little knowledge about the TOP lore and the style of the album pleased me on the first hearing, precisely because I already had the context of what the album wanted to go through.
But, after listening a few times and analyzing the album coldly, it is not a very high quality product. ... read more
Its been a while i listened to a album that talks about toxic relashionship, solitude and trust issues inside a grand love theme in this incredible way.
Surely the most and best diverse album in a while.
i feeling a 70 on this.
I think its kinda cool, much better than choker.
While I was listening to this, all I thought was, '' This is not so bad ''.
So I think this is a positive point
Yeah, this is fucking insane, didnt listen to something like that in a while. DJ SORROW, LAUGHING THROUGH THE PAIN!!!!
i still can't believe this is actually good music. But i've been listening through this album all week, lol.
Love it! It's amazing how niche and accessible this album can be at the same time. It is a great cultural reading crafted in mainstream pop.
This is absolutely amazing.
Since IGOR, i've been wondering if (or when) a post-modern album that sounds current and necessary for the industry will come out.
This is it. Projects like this show the beauty and sadness of young people of each generation, is projects like this that can make a boy in a basement start a dream. Nothing better than young people expressing themselves purely through art. I confess that I cried a little bit at the end.
This is the kind of music that we need for this year. Progressive, epic and uplifting. OUR SIDE HAS TO WIN.
Soil was a good album that showed the potential that serpentwithfeet has. DEACON shows how serpentwithfeet could have evolved more, even if it still manages to please with its style.
[Intro: Martin Luther King Jr.]
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere
[Verse 1]
Maybe I stare too much
Maybe not long enough
Funny how I forget to blink
But when you let down your hair
Dancin' like no one's there
I know I'm where I'm s'posed to be
[Pre-Chorus]
I say "I love you" under my breath
More times than you can digest
Music every time I hear your name, oh
Your head's layin' right on my chest
Sun's up and I still ain't got no rest
I didn't like this album the first few times, until it clicked with me.
This is Taylor Swift's masterpiece in every way. It is an insane musical maturation and completely unlikely to be seen in an artist like Taylor.
It's amazing how the melodies and lyrics carry this album with emotion within the minimalist and soulful production.
I heard it twice and I already have an opinion.
Apparently, singing in Spanish exempts you from having to compose something new or have a non-repetitive production for an entire EP.
The first two songs are decent and seem to be making room for something different in the next few minutes, but everything falls apart after that. My biggest question about this project is: How is it possible to make a 20 minute EP get boring?
Genesis Owusu plays with genres and melodies in a very pleasant and cohesive way. A project like this is always good for art, pure and sincere.
I think that if this were a less expensive EP, it would be a lot more enjoyable to hear. The formula here is saturated and used again and the project only loses its inspiration with each song. It is still something I would come back to hear due to the fact that this have some hooks and bridges that I like, even if they are reused all the time.
Denzel Curry comes in a wave of consistency that lasts for years, this album only shows how a project made without a giant effort can still be pleasant and coherent. Looking forward to hearing more from Denzel.
As a professional Black Dresses connoisseur, I will say that this could be better.
After some listening and in-depth studies, I feel that this project loses its balance of ambition and consistency at some point, which does not happen in ''Peaceful as Hell''. It can be said that some songs could be better worked on vocals or production. It's a bit of a strange and divisive rhythm on the entire album. But in general, good album.
