A great release consisting of 3 undeniable bangers. What I half expected - and what it fortunately isn't - is one great single and then two afterthoughts. Instead each song does something different, and I would struggle to pick a favourite. The production is just so nice throughout, each part comes through crystal clear in a very satisfying way. The bass especially hits, the title track being the best example. Parts of this track are almost nausea inducing, in a good way. "Infinite ... read more
There was a moment there where I was worried "POWER" might actually emerge as the greatest song on the album. Fortunately, Anderson .Paak was kind enough to lend G-DRAGON one of his b-sides. In a way this is a much more interesting album than I expected, but mostly due to my bafflement. GD's unusual english delivery makes for many notable moments, but none that I can say outright are good, except maybe "TAKE ME". I hate to harp on the pronunciation but it really sticks ... read more
This album unfortunately did not hit the spot for me. Though I hope Serafina will forgive me, I don't think Fin will so I have brought counter measures, namely the tome of Finvisibility which I will invoke when necessary. It's always a good sign when one of the biggest gripes you have with an album is its being too short. Ö starts incredibly strong, and only barely loses steam by the end. The production is just killer, so crisp, so clean. It's perfectly sparse too, there's never a feeling of "Let's just fill this thing to the brim". It's everything you need and nothing you don't. The biggest bangers are up front, naturally, "L.U.C.K.Y.", "if you wanna ... read more
"Bleeds" has everything, which at first I struggled to appreciate, but over time has only made it a greater pleasure to return to. From the gorgeous, plodding "The Way Love Goes" to the ear-bleeding "wasp", the swelling tragedy of "Carolina Murder Suicide" to the country-tinged sway of "Elderberry Wine", the album wears many hats without ever feeling inauthentic or amateurish. The world-building of "Bleeds" is remarkable. Despite the ... read more
