Fantastic album. I often find that instrumental albums get relegated to being background music, simply by not being interesting enough, but Yumegatari has safely escaped this. I found the album touching, every moment hinting at an emotion I'm not sure I can describe, and all adding up to create a really sweet, genuine experience. I'm not sure I've heard anything quite like it before, and the only way I will again is by relistening to the album.

One of the best jazz-rap albums I have listened to, proportionally more jazz than most jazz-rap which is why I enjoyed it. The monologues that introduce each artist make it feel special and I really like the ones that talk about what jazz is to them. The songs have really clean production sampling different styles of jazz. I would use this to introduce people to the sub genre.

I've been enamoured by this album ever since playing fez, strap yourself in for why this album is still on my mind roughly 8 years later.
To me it is one of the most fitting game soundtracks of all time, portraying the depth and themes of the game very well. The album is able to stand by itself as a strong instrumental album, not falling into the trap of just being background music like many other videogame soundtracks do.
