Converge - Hum of Hurt
85

Two good records in one year is hard enough, but TWO amazing records in one year? Insane.

Vince Staples - Cry Baby
85

Awesome, Vince really went off with the Rap Rock and has some of his best writing that really doesn't hold back.

Madonna - Like a Virgin
75

A pretty fun record that doesn't do anything wrong.

Van Halen - 1984
70

A cool record with some iconic rock/glam metal songs, but it gets carried pretty hard by those few songs. The only song outside of the 4 big songs that really impressed me was "House of Pain."

Kaatayra - Caminhos de Água
90

One of the coolest metal albums I've heard in a while. It blends metal with folk and nature recordings really well and creates a unique listening experience that makes it feel like you're in the middle of the forest. Both very emotional and heartbreaking, while still being very calm and soothing.

Gregory Alan Isakov - This Empty Northern Hemisphere
85

A real beautiful album, the writing, singing, and the instrumentals are all done super well and makes very inviting and soothing.

Michael Jackson - Thriller
90

Very catchy and fun with some amazing production.

Neil Young - Harvest
80

Classic country rock.

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
90

Depressing but in a good way.

Kim Petras - Detour
80

Wow I wasn't expecting an album this good from from Kim Petras. Very energetic and fun, production is really good and the lyrics are good, too. Near the end the album does get a little weak but a great last song and a very solid first half more than make up for it.
Also I think this album makes it clear it's time we kick Dr. Luke out of music entirely. Not only is he a piece of shit that deserves to be in jail, but he also clearly brings down peoples music output, too, since Kim ... read more

Boards of Canada - Inferno
70

Pretty cool album. The feel of it is really ethereal and dreamy with a slow burn feel, for me it was bit too slow and felt like it was dragging on near the end, but still pretty good overall.

The Black Dahlia Murder - Nocturnal
70

The main problem I have with this album are the vocals, other than that it’s pretty good.

Songs: Ohia - The Lioness
95

Beautifully haunting, yet comforting album that encapsulates loneliness perfectly.

In Flames - Clayman
90

An awesome metal album that has some amazing guitar work, great vocals, and stellar writing.

The Marías - CINEMA
75

A great debut album that needed some better direction.

Basement - WIRED
70

It's kind of repetitive but still pretty good.

Jethro Tull - Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die!
70

A cool concept album that doesn't have any bad tracks, but also doesn't have anything really amazing.

Ovven - Gnawing At The Cord
70

A cool Alt-country album, but what the hell is this cover.

Animals as Leaders - Parrhesia
65

Album is cool, but its technicality holds back the album.
