i've grown out of stuff like this; maximalist theater kid stuff -- but i'd be lying as hell if i was to say Jhariah's vocals, the production, and songwriting was close to boring. i don't find this the most tasteful stuff and it'd probably piss me off if i listened to this on the wrong day; but i still find this really interesting, fun and its execution lands great enough.

usually, i take quite a bit of time getting to a few songs from an album before i listen to it all the way... this one just hooked me in immediately. so fun, restless, and brings me up every time, and i just can't ever get bored of it it seems.
such passionate, wonderful playing from all of Cap'n Jazz making each track so lively. i don't remember where i read this, but one said this album's instrumentation is the perfect balance of "sloppiness" and virtuosity ... read more
