Glorious. This album is a shining victory of electronic music. The debut of TOMORA, the creative project of The Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands and Norway’s most eclectic pop star, AURORA. Both have always seemed to operate in different spheres of the music industry. AURORA existed in that of a folktronica realm, inspired by the natural world, whereas The Chemical ... read more
I am a big Joost fan. His eccentricity, his creativity, his humor, and his stylistic vision is all very admirable and intriguing. In honor of going to see him live in concert tomorrow I have decided to finally review this album which I have been meaning to for ages now. All the singles have been songs that have accompanied me frequently these past 2 years and it was very interesting to see how they all got placed in this album. I was really vibing with a lot of the electronic elements here. I wish the middle of the album wasn’t as weak as it was. Lyrically it’s sort of ehh but I’ve never found her to be a very compelling lyricist. I do think she was more honest in this record than previous work I’ve heard from her. At times I was very blown away by the ... read more
