One of the best bands working today. I understand fans that may be disappointed in the lack of evolution in their sound, but that's not an issue to me when they're as consistent as they are.
After taking some risks in Raw Data Feel, the band goes back to playing it safe, to the album's detriment. There's nothing wrong with any of the songs - production is fine, the melodies are fine, it's just not as interesting or as exciting as I know Everything Everything can be. Quite a shame after the absolute triumph that Raw Data Feel was.
I'm just gonna say it: I don't miss Alabama Shakes. Brittany Howard's "What Now" takes everything great about Jamie and improves it on all fronts. The album flow especially is fantastic and makes for a much more cohesive listening experience. Howard's vocal performances are expectedly fantastic and I love the different sounds from soul, funk, and psych found in the instrumentals. Production is top notch too. Incredible album
