808s is such a beautiful and touching work from Ye. The touch of pain he gives within his vocal performances truly strike an emotion in me that makes me glad that we've been gifted this man. I'm a bit disappointed with this after coming off their first album. Nothing really caught my eye to an extent and I just grew increasingly more tired with their playing. The varied bits of awkwardness don't help either.
There's a lot of different layers to the production on this album but overall, it just feels flashy and overdone. Gambino's writing at times is also pretty cheesy.
All these tracks are short and sweet except YELLOW SUBMARINE. It doesn't fit with the rest of the album and is just obnoxious.
Tyler's great at creating these atmospheres in his albums and it's pretty apparent here.
