I can see why people consider this to be her best single in ages (which doesn't say much). The politically charged lyrics are provocative and defiant, something you can actually take seriously, though I'm not entirely convinced by that "Live through this, thanks Courtney" line; I think she could have pulled it better.

Her best post-classic era single along with Rock With U. Everything here sounds heavenly: the sampled strings, the drums full of life, and evidently, Janet’s voice. It’s so full of passion not to mention it’s one of her best performances. The lyrics are also great (her last to be) they sound so full of emotion and longing, specially since it’s a female point of view, which in these type of ballads is unusual.

It’s a known fact that Tori has had lost that spark in her long ago (26 years ago precisely) and, therefore, released very mid-average at best material, just like this song.
